Have you ever been mocked at the gym? I was by trainers. I had a clear envelope that I carried my clip board and workout ideas in along with colored pens that I used when splitting routines. The mocks. Mainly looks, snorts, whatevers. We trainers would do things differently.
Then she is at the Y. Clip boards all over the place. File cabinets full of workout sheets.

No. I've never been mocked at the gym, nor have I ever knowingly seen anyone else being mocked. I have, however, seen the following: - Dudes wearing white cotton shorts as swimwear. - Dudes trying to "correct" the form of women who were not asking for their help. - Dudes staring through the glass into the pool area at women swimming. - A dude who just came and sat near the pool and watched people (women) swim. - Finally, my favorite, the elderly gentleman who came out of the lockerroom to the pool, took off his swim trunks, and jumped in the pool naked. All of the chivalrous gentleman around me said nothing while it was up to me to tell him he needed to, you know, cover his penis in a public, co-ed pool. He swam several decorous laps of backstroke with his dangle flopping around before I managed to get the front desk staff to impress upon him the rules regarding swim wear.

Never been mocked at the gym. If a trainer were to do so, you should complain. Patrons being assholes is one thing, but the trainers are supposed to be professionals.

I've never been mocked at the gym either and I've been going to gyms regularly since I was a teenager. I'm kind of confused by the OP anyway. Is this a new gym? New trainers / employees? Either way, what did you do about it? Silence means they will continue this behavior. I'm curious as to how it was addressed and handled because IF that ever happened to me it would be addressed immediately.

Nope.
I wouldn't mock you for bringing a clip board with your workout, but bringing the colored pens and multiple workouts in is a bit weird. I'd just look at you kind of weird.
I usually decide on what workout I'm doing before I go to the gym.

I guess I don't consider "looks, snorts, whatever" to be "mocking." I have resting bitch face, so I try not to read much into others' facial expressions either. Otherwise I'd look even madder all the time.

I'm figuring they thought she was another trainer and were just doing it in fun.

The gym we go to, a pretty big chain, has “judgement free” motto and has signs all over the place “judgement free zone”. I am a people watcher though so I make internal judgements, a lot of time good ones, sometimes negative though.
I will judge people on the weightlifting equipment and see how much weight they are doing. Usually it is people in their 50s (my age) to see if they do better or worse than me.
There is a guy there often I would guess to be in his 50s that uses a walker due to disability or stroke. On the arm machines I noticed he does a or of weights, so that is judging him in a good way.

I like to do Body Pump. I used to have a guy in my class that had MS. I used to push myself to keep going b/c he was plugging away challenging himself despite his obvious weaknesses. The class was held in the basement, no elevator and he used a walker. He would just use the railing and come down the stairs. If his wife was in the locker room, someone would run up and grab the walker and bring it down for him.
Lots of people have a variety of weak joints. I usually don't judge people. I am there to work on myself, not to people watch.

I really roll my eyes at the grunters and the weight droppers. Amd if you don't wipe down your machine I will give you the stink eye.

I ignored her. I felt it was a way to start a conversation. I did have one free session with her a year or so later.

I would like to say something to those cell phone users who do their reps then sit there for 10 minutes with their phone. Hogging the machine. I have tripped up people who were rotating machines or doing a circuit. One set doesn't take that long even tough they felt very inconvenienced.

"I was by trainers." Plural. "We trainers would do things differently." Plural. "Then she is at the Y." Very, very singular. Are we talking about multiple trainers or are we talking about Judy von Snoot giving your clipboard the evil eye on Monday and now you just want to slap her hypocritical little face?

Hmm...no, I don't think so. Although, at the gym, I'm generally engrossed in a book. So, it might have happened, and I just didn't know it. However, I work with teenagers, so not much phases me with teenage-like behaviour.

Oh, I have been mocked for having my various colored pens and notebook, but that has nothing to do with the gym. Also, I don't worry about that, because I need my notebook to stay sane. I was mocked with my Palm Pilot, too.

I judge people at the gym (and everywhere else) all the time. But I don't mock anyone. I try not to stare but sometimes it's hard. Stare and judge what? Out of shape people in the gym. Or their gym clothes or what are you looking at? Sometimes clothes. If you are walking around in leggings and a sports bra and don't have anywhere near the body for it, yeah. Or the girl in one of my classes that refuses to wear shoes and runs around with bare feet on that disgusting gym floor. Or the girl in my class that seemed to think we are in a strip club. Or the people that go out of there way to make a big show of how they're a total gym rat (or wanna be) by the way they are flexing or even talking and then they can't hang when it comes to the workout. Or the guy that's just trying to be the c0ck in the henhouse (my zumba class is primarily female) and leaves 5 minutes into our class huffing and puffing because he can't keep up. Man. I judge a lot of people. Oh well, some of them are probably judging me for something.

H. said some things about a gym where the big body builders were strutting their stuff. He said one of the guys was ogling a woman. He hoped it was his GF. I detest weight droppers. I forgot them. We were in yoga and the weights were dropping next door. The weight drops would echo through the lobby at another gym. Foot slap on the treadmills is another noise pollution. I am sure that was nerve wracking for the office workers. A draw back to working at that gym. On clothing. Some of those yoga pants are so skin tight they are almost like no clothes. Some are beige making it even worse.

I don't care for weight dropping either. If you have to drop the weight, you are trying to lift something way too heavy. Why not lift a weight you can control instead of trying to be a meathead?

The old gym I went to had a large percentage of gay men. I was invisible. I probably could have stripped naked and run a lap and no would have even blinked.

It's not a problem where we go, its affiliated with the rehab at the hospital so we have a variety of people of differing body sizes and issues. I don't see anyone showing off really though there may be as we aren't there often.
We do have some trainers with nice bods and some people that come in. But I'm busy doing my thing as is DD when I can get her to go. I do wish she could lose weight though for her health.

I’m sure there are people who mock me. I don’t care. One thing I have learned is that there is always someone bigger, stronger, and better looking than you. I just do my thing.
I do find it funny because so many think that I am the big strong gym rat that they need to stay out of my way. Realistically, I’m just another schmuck trying to justify eating too much by working out. As I close in on 50, it has been fun to watch the young guys try to impress each other, I was like that too many, many years ago.
I only internally mock those who act like they are Gods gift to society.
