I was with Scottrade and loved them! TD Ameritrade bought them out, and I think the platform sucks. My watch lists no longer get continual updates, etc plus other things seem cumbersome. Who do you trade online with? Any pros or cons?

I'm in the same boat. Loved Scottrade (17 yrs) but now with Ameritrade. Getting somewhat used to them, znd will stay the course.
No more trading, just investing in my income stock portfolio. Just buy and hold (that's it.)

I was with Ameritrade for almost 20 years and went through a lot of changes over the years, so good, some not so good. I know have a for real financial advisor and the only difference is that Ameritrade holds the accounts now as institutional accounts and not retail. Still happy with TDA and my advisor, and little changes in being a retail or institutional client.

Well, now all I gotta do is see if I can get a look at their screens to see if they are comfortable for me. Thanks everyone.

I was recommended Robinhood. It is free trades and gives new signups free stock. The people who use it like it. I didn't sign up. If you try it out, let us know how it works.

I've traded with many firms, for lots of reasons. I lived in different cities, etc. I now have an account with Ameritrade; almost inactive; Was with Scottrade until the recent merger. … Not pleased at all with that. I traded many years ago with Ameritrade; got out. Seriously thinking about First Trade. Surprised but very glad to see Kadee's post No. 5 (posted about 10 days ago). Will add an addendum to this post, when and if I change.

I use TD Ameritrade. I'll be looking elsewhere if I get another f-ing call from one of their agents wanting to meet me in person to review my account. I signed up online, I've always been online-only. Starting about a month ago I started getting calls from some in-person agent nearby who wants to talk about my accounts who clearly got my contact information from Ameritrade. I've told him twice now that I'm not interested (which I gave a bit of a pass for since technically he called me for my account once and my wife's once). If he calls again, I'm probably moving.
I'm not really doing much that's fancy for the most part, so I mostly just like having a place where I can link a bunch of accounts and see them all on one page. I'm not really tied to Ameritrade in any real way, it just happened to be the one I picked so many years ago when I started, so they've gotten all my subsequent business in the name of simplicity with all the different qualified and non-qualified accounts in one spot.

I use Fidelity. They call twice a year (pre-planned day and time after getting an email) to check my situation and see if I want to make any changes. Their online site is easy to navigate. In fact I trade there without speaking to anyone and get immediate email confirmations.
