It premieres tonight, although I read there was a 'Backdoor pilot' on March 1, which I missed.  Since Shonda Rhimes is involved, I suspect it has potential.  It's a spinoff from Grey's Anatomy but I get the feeling it will have a darker atmosphere.

Anyone else planning to watch?

We have the DVR set up. Watching NCAA basketball or Greys Anatomy tonight.

A couple of things I loved about the first season of Grey's was the ensemble of bambi interns / their journey to becoming doctors and the quirky scene music.   None of that here, but all things considered it was worth the watch.

There's intense action and it's dark and gritty at times.  They employ a visual device going into commercial which is similar to the way NCIS does their brief flash-forward.  But they use four rapid-fire hits rather than a single pop to black and white still.

Both times, although the second time you kind of wonder what's going on at first then when you do, it's like . . . OH, I GET IT NOW!

It grabbed and held my interest for the two hours.  For me, it's a keeper.

Finally watched it the other night. I'm going to give it a few more tries but even recorded I couldn't seem to hang with it. I did finally get from start to finish over a two night time frame.

Episode 2 was ... okay.  I think this will probably be one of those series which I'll be willing to watch but not a must-see sort of thing.

One scene that played pretty well was when the (female) Battalion Chief was talking with the male Lieutenant and the female Lieutenant was overhearing the conversation (unknown to either of the two in the conversation).  BC made it quite clear that she thought his competition was only there due to nepotism.  This ran contrary to the notion that BC would have been biased toward female Lt due to gender. 

Male Lt showed some class in his response.

Anyone else still watching this?  I do continue to enjoy it for the most part but last night incorporated the most ridiculous solution.  The gasoline 'bomb' with the water heater was so implausible that it made me wanna puke.

I too was disappointed in last night's episode. There were so many technical errors, IMO, that I was yelling at the tv.
