 UMBC probably not well known but local to me. Just outside of Baltimore and part of the University of Maryland system. BTW they have an award winning chess club. Sorry for my niece who is a UVA grad.

The retriever mascot is so cute. I'm so happy for them. I suspect Virginia did not enter with the right attitude. They will be a cautionary tale for probably 20 years.

I'm happy for the particular set of players as they deserve their own success stories. However, I'm weary of the constant UCONN winning.
I don't think any other team will win the championship this year, though I'm hopeful--quack.

I don't think any other team will win the championship this year, though I'm hopeful--quack. I have been fortunate in living in Connecticut and Tennessee for some time. Both UConn's and UT's women's teams have mostly dominated basketball for some time. I can root for both.  |

Coach K took the lead on total number of wins by an NCAA coach today.
When asked about it, he shook his head and said he didn't even know about it until yesterday.
My paraphrase: He didn't place much value on it because he knew Pat would still be winning if her life hadn't been cut short.
I know he can be ass, but I did think that was respectful of him.
