OC - I didn't see this thread. My prayers going out to you for recovery. I do hope there are some answers found but am so glad to hear you are carrying on as normal.
Some of ya'll need to get a grip. I didn't see OC asking for any sympathy - just stating some facts. It wasn't a "woe is me" post - just a statement of his condition.

Exactly the type of mindset, comment and person that causes me to all but ignore this board This actually isn't the politics board. Here's the quick n' dirty litmus test: If a certain national leader's name doesn't appear anywhere in the first two posts, you're not on the Politics board with 99.9995% certainty.

Holy shit, I thought I had wondered into the POLITICS board. Hate just follow/wander all over the place on YMAM. Par for the course. And pitiful at the same time.
OldCoyote I am sorry you are going thru this. Thanks for your thoughts, Other than in my head, Being that I am a little concerned about the future, I am not having any physical problems directly because of the CKD. The one thing that does cause me problems is because of CKD is I can not take any kind of anti inflammatory product, No Advil, No Arthrotec, I even stay away from Tylenol. Because of the chemotherapy for the colon cancer, I have the neuropathy of the hands and feet,
which only made worse by my refusing to acknowledge the fact that I am 71 Y.O. not 40, I still work like I am 40. I have to admit that the pain from my feet, hands and shoulders is becoming a little bit of a burden, (No, I an not going to tell My wife,) Does any one have any experience with the marijuana derivative CBD?

Should we mock you, the way you mocked Hillary for falling in the shower and fracturing a bone? Help me out, here. I only pointed out that she falls down a lot. No where did I say that I was happy that she broke her wrist,, I pointed out she falls a lot and she does! If you want to mock me have at it,, I could not care less. I’m truly sorry. First I am sorry that anyone would kick you when you are down. More importantly I’m truly sorry for your health problems.

OC how are you doing?
I have some neuropathy of my toes from the chemo 5 years ago but I'm still functioning. Getting a bit slower as I get older, and my balance isn't as good but so far haven't fallen. Just lean a lot.
I'm 76 so have a couple of years on you. This summer I'll have my 5 year CT scan on my colon and be declared cured. Something to look forward to.
Take care YOU ……… and please keep your wife in the loop

I am taking CBD oil, its called Tasty Drops. My pharmacist, independent pharmacy, supposedly researched this one and recommends it. I started taking it daily about 3 or 4 weeks ago. It has dramatically helped the pain in my foot actually my pain from osteoarthritis and degenerative disk disease too. I cannot tell the pain management group I go to or they will stop the hydrocodone. My GP said don't drop out as I will likely never get back in. She has no problem with me taking it and said her partner is telling people to take it. The problem is its not regulated, I got some capsules that did nothing, this one seems to be good, I did get them to reduce the frequency of my hydrocodone which I never take 3 a day, to 2 a day. I am trying not to take any of it and taking just once a day my arthrotec instead of 3 times a day. The NP at pain management said there were hundreds on the waiting list is why I should not drop out. I told her if I could get something done with my foot my goal is to get off the stuff altogether. I only take as needed. I am very concerned about damage to my kidneys and liver so trying to curtail it.
The HP said the big problem is without regulation some is good, some is bad. She had signs on the wall saying if you test positive you are not out but not getting meds?? She had already said that to get a drug test, so had nothing to do with that.
Now of course this time they chose to drug test me. I talked to my pharmacy about this and they claim it will not come up positive that I have to take tons of it and they have to test for THC. Pain management says its a big problem people are taking it and testing positive, if it does they will prescribe no more narcotics, thankfully I never let myself get dependent on them. I told her I want to try it. I hate lying to them.
I have dramatically improved all over my body with reduced pain. However, when the barometer goes down I am in agony, pain in back, thumbs, ankle, I take it all and nothing helps. But yes, I have been able to reduce meds, if I come back positive I will tell them and show them what I am taking and how much it has helped. I hope to stock up enough hydrocodone to use only when I am in dire need. What I have, I have used very sparingly should last for some time.

Oh she said another problem is some have to take more then is recommended for their pain and cannot afford it. I am paying $50 for a bottle that lasts 40 days at half a dropper a day. Hope I donot have to increase it, so far, so good.
Oh and I am 72. By the way they have finally referred me to a foot and ankle specialist in Indianapolis, the NP said he did surgery on her foot and helped her greatly so I am going to go in July and see what they can do. I am getting a MRI on my foot next week. I had been to podiatrists in Houston and they couldn't help me. But this is 10 or 15 years ago, she said these people are state of the art. My injuries are from a lifetime of flatfeet that have kept breaking down and the right one is practically walking on the bone. I found a DonJoy brace that has really helped but I need it fixed if possible, its like having a bad sprain all the time, the left is better but not a whole lot.
