Watching this weekend's professional golf tournament (yeah I know boring). Thought of some recent Virgil Showlion comments when I heard something like: "I'm talking with Justin Rose who is playing his best golf in a couple of years. So Justin, what was the energy on the course like with Tiger Woods in contention again?"

I've been watching golf on and off also - yep I'm boring too. And I heard that commentator's question also. I also heard one of the talking heads say on the first day of tournament that Tiger was playing better than anyone out there - except he wasn't the leader so I had to SMH - don't know standings as of now so guess I should change channels and check out the scores

According to the radio program Cowherd, Tiger is the one who had all the amateur golfers out on courses. When he was out of golf, his absence affected the sport like no other sports figure who left a sport. The play graph went straight down. Remaining down. We will see if Tiger pulls golf back up!

I just hope that the media doesn't go back to the TIGER LOSES and not mention who the winner is! That got old real fast. But I agree his returning will up the ratings as he is exciting to watch but there are others out there playing on the same course. Give em their due notice too!

Thought of some recent Virgil Showlion comments when I heard something like: "I'm talking with Justin Rose who is playing his best golf in a couple of years. So Justin, what was the energy on the course like with Tiger Woods in contention again?" The interviews by themselves would have been tolerable. It was the interviews, plus the locked-on-Tiger-Woods commentary, plus the locked-on-Tiger-Woods footage--whether he was actually stroking the ball or not--that combined to make coverage so insufferable. If he's a phoenix rising from the ashes and the sport is going back to being the 24/7 Tiger Woods show...
