Thanks, the J, but I've started to become fond of it!!

How does one get Karma? Apparently I have none. Now you do You get karma by having someone click on the karma link under your name (you won't see one under your name, but you'll see it under other people's)

Will it be good Karma or bad Karma? How do we get the little emotions to post?

Only good karma. There used to be a 'smite' button that would take 1 karma point away but the gods that run the board took that away

Hi gang. I've been busy at work and the old board, but when I saw this thread, I had to say something. To Miss R and anyone else who feels this board may not be for them, all I want to ask is that you give it some time. This is all kind of new for all of us, and yes, we do have some new people or people we're not familiar with. I think in time the quirks of the place will shake themselves out. This place still has a "newness" factor to it, so the way things are now are not necessarily the way it will always be. Miss R; I recall exactly what you were talking about when a group of "newbies" hit EE. One group in particular came from an unmoderated, wild board. Many of them were just looking for a place to be annoying. However, there were some in that group who were very nice and I believe some even still post with us. Anyway, it was not long before the trouble makes did leave and things returned to normal, or at least EE normal. I just think you need to give this place a little more time. You're one person I would hate to see leave, so give it a shot. Thanks.

Part of it is the order the boards are listed. EE is first and has the most posts by a long shot so it is getting the most traffic. It's like your favourite pub being taken over by a big chain.

Awww, yes, the mini dresses. I have really long legs and looked horrible in them.
ETA...the dresses, not the legs. ;D

It's only been less than two weeks and the same people are saying the same snarky things. I don't understand and it frustrates me.

Naggie, that's always going to happen on boards IMO. Some people won't let old issues die, some people are here to stir up trouble, etc, etc, etc

I was mostly at the old Politics board. MSN had too many steps to navigate between boards. Here with the "new topics" button at the top, you receive all the new threads on whatever board they are posted on. I find myself visiting many different boards, and may not post unless something interests me. I have to say it is good to get out and visit other boards for perspectives. As far as new members mucking up your board, well, I am sorry, but technically, we are all "new members", and maybe old posters are ruining it for new members. I know, maybe, no likely..... Instead of being disappointed, welcome them "home". So far, I have to say the boards have been reinvigorated with enthusiasm, although at P&M, we are starting out slowly with links, etc. Seems to be a little more difficult to do it, so the great debates there are a little slow in getting to their usual boisterous "this thread is locked" conclusion. All in all, sit back and enjoy these boards. I know I am. Incidently, if I am the one that is making you unhappy, please just ignore.

"Gawd! I'm not only a b!tch, I'm a snob" LOL That is funny,,you made a joke, going to add it to to my new book of "One liners" On the seriouse side, suggest, stay, use the scroll button ..right by what your not comfortable with. If the forums are important in your life, then why give them up.. Just a thought...
PS I think this new zone, all of it , a hugh improvement over the old..even the sicko's seemed to be under better control..IMO.

already I'm feeling quite unwelcome. Again. It happened on the MSN boards a while back, but those posters left for their own preferred forums. One hopes that will be the case this time as well. There's no rational explanation for disliking nameless, faceless people on a public forum...people that I don't know and am not likely to ever know. I think of incredibly unkind and snarky comments to make but sit on my hands thinking that everybody has feelings and to deliberately make someone else feel bad is...what? more than not nice. OTOH, those posters often post comments that border on the obscene or are obviously designed to insult/anger others or are just plain mindless drivel. I prefer the brand of mindless and silly drivel that we came to embrace on the MSN boards When I see names of some posters attached to threads that I'd like to read or a long-running thread where I'd usually post, I just scroll on past. Responding pleasantly seems to be an exercise in futility or an invitation to be flamed/bashed/whatever. Is it just me? Have I become so hidebound that I cannot see what's probably meant to be humor? I hate myself for being such a b!tch, but some of the garbage posted in the past day or two is so stupidly outrageous that I don't even want to bother anymore. Flame away. WOW! missrigby I have NEVER been a target in my life and get along with people all the time. I just found out I've been banned on MSN! I can't believe it? and only because of others being miss informed makeing false statements about me, which I can only guess further upset the modorator to go to the next level. LOL this is WOW shocking. Now here do I have to fear being targeted again by these two people posting? like clicks in High School? Deep!
