Two different things.
You either have an annual membership at $99 OR you have a month-to-month subscription, which is the one that is being increased.

The bolded assumption is incorrect. You can pay monthly or pay the annual fee once per year. You do not pay two fees.

I don't overtly pay for it because I use the cash reward feature on my Discover card. Yes, I know I get less cash back, but I think the free shipping feature more than makes up for the reduction in cash rewards.

I think I get very good value for my Prime membership between the free shipping and Prime videos.
Also, I own stock in Amazon, so there is that. I try to patronize companies in which I own stock.

1. I'm a Prime member- one order of dog food worth of shipping pays for it. 2. I'm an FBA business owner as well- and sellers pay the shipping & fees. That's how they do it.

so is the one-shot annual fee increasing as well? I may just switch my method of payment. I only recently signed up, when I started using my fire stick.

It's cheaper to pay the fee annually, so that is what I do. I think I get a LOT of value for my $99 ~ I watch videos all the time, I listen to Amazon music, I store photos, and I can read Kindle books. Oh, and that super-nifty fast-and-free shipping. I ordered something yesterday morning and it arrived last night. That's pretty darn cool.

The shipping is worth it I think. Walmart often has comparable prices but I hate having to come up with $35 of stuff every time I order from there-I do a lot of smaller orders from Amazon. I also like the prime video access, DS can often try the first season of a kids show to see if he likes it or not.
Glad to see the annual membership isn’t changing though!

I don't buy enough from Amazon to have the annual Prime membership and use the monthly fee to just signup for the month I need to buy something. Thanks for letting me know that the fee has increased.
