I've been down in the dumps also.
I think my dad needs more care than my sister does, so we are at an impasse.
I know part of it is SAD. In the winter, I use a SAD lamp. Today we had sunshine and that lifts my spirits some.
My house is clean, but I didn't get any decluttering done.

I have been feeling down today too, DD and I got our hair cut, ate lunch out. Messed around, I got a bit of groceries, cooked a roast. It's not very good, too greasy and not a lot of taste, damn and the meat looked so good.
I bought an etagere for the living room to put some of my things in. Have a lot in the basement. I need to clean that corner first.

Whew! It's been another long day. Not only did my contractor show up, but since the outdoor temps have been improving, the siding guys showed up too, & worked past sundown again. Two more days, and the shower should be completely done, including the tile done & sealed. Then, I've got the flooring replacement, and the new sink & counter installation to look forward to.

I'd like to rid my job of one apartment complex. Just one complex of 70 apartments. It's so bad the manager keeps her own taser. It's women who act like animals that make it bad.

We hope to declutter the attached garage this weekend, its not to bad but things need to be moved to other areas and we are going to move a shelf around and maybe some cabinets, its a very functional garage. I'm planning on painting in a bathroom tomorrow, already decluttered it.

Day 17 of #31Days2GetOrganized – T-Shirts – Try this clever decluttering trick for dealing with your overrun pile of t-shirts. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s pretty effective!

Day 18 of #31Days2GetOrganized – BATHROOM CUPBOARD – Stuff seems to just collect in bathrooms. When was the last time you had a good look at the cosmetic & beauty clutter hiding under your sink. Let’s turn this space into an organized thing of beauty today!

Has anyone listened to the minimalists podcast before? From time to time I do just for inspiration. My sister and I talked the other day and she is in desperate need of throwing stuff out. She was telling me how I'm so good about it. I do think I'm better than most people, but I could still do more I think. My boyfriend keeps buying me stuff I don't need (but I'm using). I really feel like a purge, and I've been thinking of offering to go to her house and help her get rid of stuff.

My list is pretty short for today: Ship textbooks (Amazon has a trade-in program that may net me nearly $300 for three books) Order textbooks for M/W/F classes (only two of the three classes require books) Nap (happening in the next 15 minutes ) Gym

count me in for feeling off lately. I'm making sure I take my vitamin D every day for good measure, but what's keeping my spirits up is knowing I'll be on a cruise ship in a little under two weeks. I'll be getting massive doses of natural vitamin D for 5 long days and I can't wait. as far as decluttering, I got a newsletter from Pottery Barn yesterday. apparently they have launched a line for apartments/small spaces. I still have a gift card from there, and I could use some more organizational pieces to help streamline things that I do actually need. maybe when I get back from vacation.

I'm feeling miserable so I took today off. I can't afford it but I'd rather take a day off and rest than get sick and miss 3 or 4 days. Last night I got 4 bags of recycling ready to go to the car. Tonight I'm going to take my kitchen utensils and put them in the drawer in the other room. Then I'm going to move my teas to that drawer and my canned stuff to the cabinet. The way I feel that will be enough for me tonight. I've been up since 6 am and watched my grandson until 3 pm. I am tired.

Three of my classes have something due next week...and this was just the first week. Oh, well! Dean's List, here I come again!

That is the man who does the course I am now taking for the second time. I agree with a lot of what he says.
Taking his course gets me in his Facebook group.

I'm still alive! Whew, I am now on day 10 of this sickness, but I am finally not feeling like I am on the brink of death anymore. Needless to say, decluttering came to a halt this past week. I never went to a doctor, because everyone with similar symptoms that had gone, had all been told the same thing "you just have to ride this out." So, i wasn't wasting my time or money. My sister works for a cardiologist so she picked his brain- he said it definitely sounds like I got the flu going around. Average infection time 6-14 days. I had my flu shot, but the major infector this season is not covered by it- LUCKY ME. Knock on wood, my H has managed to stay healthy and has been a huge help here. Both kids have been feverish/lethargic off and on for 2 weeks now. I pray we are on the tail end of the sickies and can get back to normal living here.

Today's Peter Walsh challenge: Day 11 of #31Days2GetOrganized – Mail – Is Junk Mail threatening to take over your home? Get a jump on mail inflow with these 3 simple steps! #31Days2GetOrganized2018 #ItsAllTooMuch #NewYearsResolution #DeclutterAndOrganize #GetToIt #MailClutter #JunkMail #MailNeedsAHome I reduced a lot of my mail by sending back to whomever sent me the mail using the postage paid envelope in it. For example, credit card offers. I stuff the blank application, the disclaimer insert, AND the original envelope into the SASE and drop it in the mail. A couple weeks of this and I NEVER get offers from them again. I no longer receive prescreened cc or insurance offers. After the Equifax breech that did end up affecting my info (not H), I opted out of everything and locked my credit reports. If you are wanting to opt out of the prescreened junk, you can either do it for 5 years or permanently. Permanently does require you to print the form and mail it in, which is what I did. www.optoutprescreen.com/?rf=t

This weekend updated
- health insurance papers/Fri - pharmacy/Fri - Amazon return/Fri
- see A? schedules don't work - create online class spaces X 2 (first-years) - bank (waiting for another check before I go)
We found out this week that DH lost our health insurance when his company closed down (we weren't sure). I am putting us on my school's insurance. I'm still waiting for a paper from DS3, but I sent everything else in this morning.
ETA: The bulk garbage pick-up took the old basement shelves, whew.
ETA2: I know there's very little chance but I texted the husband who made us the low-ball offer end of Nov to see if they are still interested. I'm not holding my breath.

For today/Friday:
Drop off trade-ins at UPS store weigh-in at gym study group tutor training Grad School resume (anyone have a template or have a suggestion for a very generic one? I don't know how much of my 20 years in the AF they'd actually care about)

nidena you might want to ask the question about the template on the general WIR board or on YM. Things have changed a lot since my day (ie the use of an accent color).

This weekend (updated again)- create online class spaces X 2 (first-years) - bank (waiting for another check before I go)Sorry to post another update today but since I'm working tomorrow (ugh!) I need to see today's progress. Dishwasher run and emptied. Laundry nearly caught up. Note to self: do not forget laundry in the machine for 48h, otherwise you have to wash it again to get the smell of damp out. First time I've ever done that.

Hi Kids! It's been a long week with the house. The exterior of the house is MOSTLY done. The electrician can't come back until next Wednesday at the earliest to reattach my outdoor lighting. It turns out I need to arrange the repairs on the screens myself, and I'm waiting for the siding company to get back to me on the damage (hail) on a couple of the window frames. The contractor & his assistant came back today, & they think they've found the slow leak, & believe they've fixed it. I'll find out soon when DD takes a shower. They'll be back again Monday to complete the work on the tiles surrounding the tub, and the wallboard. I get to go through this all over again when my new sink counter top comes in, and the flooring arrives, which could be sometime next week. After they work on Monday, I'd welcome a day or two of peace & quiet, so I can attempt to get other tasks done around the house. I'm meeting a former coworker & friend for lunch tomorrow that I haven't seen in years, and I'm really looking forward to it.

I finally organized my sewing closet and cleared off my sewing table. Wanna clean up my sewing room. This is shaping up to be another weekend where nothing gets done. I am babysitting DGD for quite a few hours tomorrow and will probably spend the night with DD. If I am as tired on Sunday as I am today, after babysitting DGD for 5 hours yesterday, nothing will be done. It quickly became very clear the difference between walking the floor with a crying baby when you are in your early 30's vs middle 50's.

The fabric is now organized by color. I wish I could help you but I'd be too busy looking through your stash that nothing would get done.

I have a CV template that public universities use for applying as an adjunct professor.
Is that what you mean?
