I'm so glad they were happy plugginaway22 . I actually think that's a great idea, to do it some years but not every year. This weekend
- order wheel for spare tire/Sat I really hope I ordered the right wheel. ETA: Kitchen loan is under 1500 euros!!!
Iggy aka IG you mentioned paying off debt before buying your new truck. Can you please tell me you did, if you don't mind? You can always PM me if you prefer. I wrote to the man with that third car (the one who is now too elderly/ill to drive). Of those 3 cars, that was always my first choice. I told him we were still interested but we wanted to pay off our current loan before taking out a new loan. I wished him luck but asked him to please let us know if/when it sells. It's currently listed at 2K euros UNDER value, without the options. It has a LOT of options.

Taking a few days away from home before January and currently making cinnamon rolls, providing tech support for all my parents devices and trying to keep my sick dog calm on crate rest. It’s cold here but we have an afternoon of painting and baking ahead.
If I can I’ll also rearrange the living room furniture because they put the most uncomfortable couch (that everyone hates) right in front of the tv.

I haven't been on here for eons but I'm looking at visiting more often come the new year. There isn't much in the house but I know there is plenty that I can get rid of (still!)
I intend to be ruthless when it comes to purging because I anticipate being out of the house by the end of Summer 2020 and plan to take as little as possible with me.

We got about half the hallway painted today, it’s 17 feet long! Also got curtains and curtain rods for 3 more rooms and 2 of those installed. The sun woke me up at 7am today and I needed more sleep!

I got through my closet last night. I wasn't up for trying on clothes and purge those regularly so I just flipped the hangers the wrong way. That way I'll be able to easily see what I'm wearing and not to get rid of anything else hanging out for too long.
Got rid of some shoes and a dress that I got for costumes and thought would use for other things but never have and decided I could always just go back to the thrift store if I redo those costumes. Also decided to part with a hanging cube shelf I've been saving for years to hang up since I don't really like to keep knick-knacks up that have to be dusted a bunch anymore.
Realized I've never gotten rid of pillow cases from any sheet set, plus have pillow cases not from sheet sets. Still have too many, but at least that was a good stack to get rid of.
Down to the hard stuff. Large family photos. Old art work that I still really like, but can't see ever hanging up again. Artsy fairy's that aren't showing anything but aren't clothed either. Framed professional whale photos. Every time I do this they all end up in either a closet or storage area to wait to be decided on another time. This time doesn't look to be any different.
Not thinking I'll get to curtains today...but maybe.

Today is hoops day and also my trash bin will be full when I put it out Tuesday evening. I put my ancient air mattress in it. So I won't be getting rid of much more this week.
My t-shirt closet is first on my list for next week. When I hung up this week's laundry, there are so many shirts in that closet that don't fit and it's time for them to either be donated or tossed.

Ds closet is done, so now I'm down to kids art work and curtains. Kids art work is so hard for me. I try to keep up on it as much as possible because otherwise we'd drown in it.
Dd is constantly creating. I like it, and I want to support it, I just can't keep it all. Some favorites we keep, we take pictures of others. Its the bigger stuff though that I'm out of ideas on. She notices when things go missing so just trashing a box without looking isn't likely to go over well. Have to start sometime though.

I spent some time yesterday shedding papers. That plus some additional items added to the trash and/or recycle bins moved my numbers slightly over 1200. Not too bad as I have been slowly moving things out of the house over the last several years. Still have more to go as we all do but those items will be added to future years numbers. This past year I made an effort to donate as many school related items back to the last place I taught. Still have additional bulletin board items to get over there and maybe a few other items as well. They received hundreds of items this year but the bulk of items is now there instead of at my house.
I did finish crocheting the afghan I have been working on so now to get it to DSS so that he can put it to use as he needs it. Hope to get to the beading sometime this week.
This morning I ran to Walgreens to pick up a RX. My insurance is changing and I was informed that one of the RX I use will not be picked up by the new insurance so I decided to get an additional one to hold me through the year. I only need to use a little bit so what I have on hand should last me for a while.
Weather is dreary and foggy again today. The kind that just goes through you. I plan to be home for the rest of today so stay out of the yuck. Would like to see the sun this week as I am tired of this dreary sunless mess. I don't seem to get as much done when the weather is like it is today.
Wishing all of you a good day.

Wasn't the someone on this thread who wanted to learn bobbin lace (tatting)? I have a new book on that to declutter. I'll send it to whomever wants it.

If no one else steps up, I'd love to learn tatting. My Grandmother used to make the most beautiful lace. She passed away many years before I was married, but when I was born she tatted some lace, and gave it to my Mom to put on pillow cases when I got married someday. My Mom did indeed get some pillow cases, and attached that lace to them, and yes, I still have them. I got a pile of bills in the mail yesterday, so I'm "decluttering" by getting those bills paid.

ETA: DH FINALLY looked up the specs on that car. He said, and I quote, "OMG, it's a steal!" So I scheduled yet another payment to the kitchen loan. The last 2 extra payments won't go through till Wed but I've updated my tagline because I need to see the kitchen loan go down.
DH will call first thing tomorrow to see the car this week. If he likes it, we will buy it. (I totally trust him.)

Yay for a new car!

Yesterday was not as productive as I wanted nor will today be. It’s almost 11am, and I’m just getting dressed. Woke up at 6am with an icky but mild migraine.

Ok, so I've been doing these yearly decluttering goals since 2013. I know because they are still written on a whiteboard in my kitchen. I only got 458 out of 2013 in 2013, and working on making up the difference in 2018. Just 40 more to go! I've been working in the basement, and my DH just took 34 items to goodwill (most of it mine that I've had ready for at least a month). Progress! I'll add all the years to my tagline later.

In the end we both chickened out about the car. My new year's resolution is to stop talking about it unless we end up buying it one day LOL. Happy New Year friends!

I don't know if this is going to make sense. 2018 started off SO badly, with the emotional and financial stress of the subsidence. You may remember that our best friends lent us the money to get the house fixed while we waited to sell the rental. Thankfully the year ended very well! DH and I both decided that if we pushed to replace my car sooner than we planned we would feel like we were "pushing our luck". We both decided we didn't want to do that.
So we decided to leave well enough alone and just plod on as initially planned. If something happens to the car, we'll worry about it then.

We took our tree down yesterday. DH was going to toss it, but the YM me decided we will see where we are at next year. If our debt is paid down enough, I will buy a new one, otherwise, it is still a very pretty tree. Some lights are not working, I just wound extra lights on the tree.
I took the boxes to the basement, but have not arranged boxes under stairs where they get stored. I just have Nativity Scene out yet. I ran down and pulled some silver picture frame stocking holders to be donated. We also tossed a few broken ornaments.
I returned a bunch of impulse buys. I am going to exchange the clothes DD bought me for workout clothes. DH bought me $80 earrings from Kohl’s but, the way they clip behind the ears is flimsy. I think I will return those too. He did find a pair of pants on clearance. They are a size or two smaller than I would normally wear, but they looked good on me. They were $4.00. I decided they were keepers. 😀
Mom’s Dryer broke too, so I told her I would return the gift I bought and give her the cash.
I bought glasses for me (HSA $), DD and DS (cash flowed the kids). We had partial Ins coverage so I nagged them to order glasses.
2019 I want to organize my green room closet (basement storage) and we need to clean the garage.
DH came home about 5, and I was trying to decide: how much of my 2019 property taxes to pay, how much estimated state taxes to pay, how much federal taxes to pay.
He wanted to leave for his Mom’s. Told me I should have had this all figured out already, and lets go. So, I made shot in the dark decisions on State & Federal and made on-line pays, and paid $1,000 of my property taxes. I don’t think I needed to pay any of it, but I have to pay another $2,700 by 1/31/19 anyways.

My year also had a rough start. 2018 came in like a lion, and is going out like lamb. Thank you I did it. 3573 things out this year. Happy New Year
