Paul would like to convince people that Mueller is straying from his original charge, which was to investigate whether or not anyone on Trump's team offered to collude with Russia.
It has been proven in multiple instances, someone from Trump's team DID try to meet with Russian agents to get dirt (or propaganda services) from Russian sources, but claim 'nothing came of it' and therefore it doesn't matter. In fact, intent to commit a crime is actually still a crime.
Additionally, Mueller's charge was to investigate whether anyone tried to collude with Russia, but that doesn't mean, if Mueller discovers questionable activity in another area, he is obligated to ignore it. For instance, their investigation into Roger Stone for potential collusion appears to be broadening, which could mean criminal charges being filed against him. Stone is whining that they can't do that, but they can. www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/the-5-latest-twists-in-the-russia-story/ar-AAxXEnv
Propaganda experts know that truth doesn't really matter, what matters is what people believe, and if you keep insisting you are right long enough, and firmly enough, some percentage of people will start to believe you, and truth becomes unimportant. However, there is another subset of people who insist that truth is truth and lies are lies, no matter how many times they are repeated, or how firmly they are stated. In dealing with the Trump presidency, it will become self evident which of those two groups every individual American lines up with.
Guesswork. We still don't know what Mueller was charged with investigating, nor the scope of it because they are concealing it, in spite of being ordered to produce it.

After initially trying to disobey court order to turn it over, they have turned over a sealed unredacted letter. Most of us on this board are not morons and we can easily tell the difference between talking points and the truth.
For the few that can't, I blame extended saturation in fake media sites that deal in propaganda, not facts - propaganda experts can twist almost any fact into an 'alternative fact' that, on the surface, looks appealing. I think Scott Adams has some videos that illustrate that theory.

Moving along now... I realize that the greatest challenge I have right now is that all of you has been enjoying a sort of willful ignorance. And we are so far down the rabbit hole now but it's doubtful any of you even recognize the name Sam Clovis. There is a danger that the government will use the complexity of the operation as cover. The short attention span of the public is an asset for those who are corrupt. This is why Spygate is one of the most effective persuasive kill shots that Trump has deployed since low energy Jeb. Its purpose is to simplify, so that the public can understand and internalize what has happened. But I digress... Sam Clovis Ponders whether or not agent provocateur, Steven Halper, was using him to get to George Papadopoulos. theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/05/28/sam-clovis-ponders-if-intelligence-asset-stefan-halper-was-using-him-to-get-to-george-papadopoulos/

The fact that you still refer to the most reliable sources on everything that has happened, those whose hypotheses have been born out over the last 2 years, is a sign that you are in deep cognitive dissonance. The word salad above is utterly meaningless. It addresses nothing, it explains nothing, and attempts to boil hard evidence gathered by seasoned professionals over many months down to the noise produces by propaganda fake news sites. In reality, the mainstream news media has been transparently engaged in an effort to cover up Spygate on behalf of the DNC, Obama, and Hillary Clinton. And it is an increasingly flimsy defense on the part of the media co-conspirators to point the finger at quote unreliable news sources unquote.

I refuse to let this get lost in the shuffle:
It's almost impossible at this stage for intelligent people making a good faith effort to learn what has happened to ignore the near certainty that Obama and Clinton were engaged in a scheme to use the awesome power of the surveillance state to subvert the election.
I have admitted that we currently have only circumstantial evidence that Obama was involved directly, but to believe he wasn't (and isn't), is getting to be more and more of a stretch.
Did the FISC issue a warrant to spy on the opposition party Presidential campaign without the President's knowledge?
Unlikely.
And given what we know about his proclivity for using government for his own political purposes, it becomes impossible to dismiss the idea that this is another Obama scheme.
I haven't forgotten that it was the Obama regime which allowed Lois Lerner (“Not a smidgen of corruption”) weaponize the IRS to obstruct his political opponents during the 2012 election.
I haven't forgotten Does anyone Eric Holder’s illegal surveillance of the Associated Press journalists and Fox News’s James Rosen.
The fact that Obama got away with it because nobody there honestly investigate him, doesn't mean he had a scandal free 8 years.
Unless you're a moron you can tell the difference between talking points and Truth.
And if you have a couple of brain cells up there between your ears that are still sparking, then you can pick up on a pattern. So while I have admitted that I am indeed a little out over my skis, it isn't wishful thinking. It's pattern recognition

The 'awesome power of the surveillance state' was pretty fucking useless, in hindsight, wasn't it, since Trump won?

Nor would many others, I imagine, which is why they're spinning a yarn. But I doubt they can spin it forever. Chances are that with Congress slowly chipping away at the fog of confidentiality surrounding the operation, eventually some piece of evidence will come forward identifying Pres. Trump as the principal target and will be so incontrovertible that even the MSM will have to admit it.
We see this so different. I think they are spinning things because the investigation isn't concluded and being forced into reveals early compromises the entire thing. I don't think Trump was a target per se, let alone a primary one. Things should have been so different if he really was the end goal.
What I see happening is Trump and the GOP are willing to expose FBI procedures to the world, just to not make Trump look bad and keep the Presidency in GOP hands. Seems like a big FU to the people who care about Russia interfering in our election process.
You mean like the Facebook ads that has divided America??
You really want to know who is trying to divide America?? All you need to do is go to any news media, Fox, CNN, MSN, Huff Post, Yahoo, and just about every other media out there... What do you see? Almost every news article produced, is written to alienate one side or the other!!!!! We don't need Russia the mess with us,,,, We are plenty good at screwing it up ourselves,,, It is easy to identify the problem, Look in the mirror!! That said, anything going to be fixed?? Nope, we are going to keep going down the road of Hatred, Still trying to destroy the other side no matter the consciences!!

"Halper contacted Page in early July 2016, weeks before the FBI claims it first opened an investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia.
The timing is significant because if Halper was being used as an informant before a case had been officially opened, it raises the possibility the Trump campaign was spied on for political — not law enforcement — reasons.
Page believes that’s exactly what happened, and agrees with the president’s characterization of the scandal as “Spygate.”
“It is particularly appropriate given recent developments,” the former campaign aide said.
Page said while he was under surveillance, Halper “portrayed himself as someone offering help” to him and the campaign, providing “insights and perspectives” on various foreign policy issues, including relations with Russia."

I'm also not going to let up on the timeline. This is where the FBI story unravels. If you needed an alibi for murder, and you screwed up a timeline this badly... you'd be headed for the gas chamber. In case you're having trouble keeping up here are the relevant questions:
When did the investigation into Trump campaign ties with Russia begin, and on what basis?
At whose direction did the investigation begin?
To whom did the investigators ultimately report? Who is running the investigation?
The reason for the object panic in a Democratic party, and on the part of their media co-conspirators is fairly obvious now. They know these questions will be answered. And they are scrambling to come up with answers that do not land them up in federal prison.
These are people that denied any involvement with the dossier, and then we found out they paid for it.
These are people that flipped out and called Trump paranoid and crazy at the thought that he was being wiretapped. And kind of like the difference between spy and informant, their counter argument was semantics. Because Trump Tower wasn't technically "wire tapped"- the phones weren't bugged, that anyone knew at that time, Trump was declared wrong.
Then there was the issue of the FISA warrant, which they initially denied even existed. We've since learned that the phones were bugged, because the Obama regime had obtained a FISA warrant and was indeed spying on members of the Trump campaign.
Then we discovered the unmasking Scandal. The unprecedented unmasking of Trump campaign officials caught up in the surveillance.
Let's not forget that the denials that Hillary Clinton's campaign bought and paid for the dossier we're also debunked.
Then there were the denials that the Trump dossier, the fake phony counterfeit human intelligence document, bought and paid for with Hillary Clinton campaign money laundered through the law firm 2 British and Russian agents, was used used to defraud the FISC justices to obtain the FISA court warrant.
The further down the rabbit hole you go the harder it is to deny the obvious.

The relevant questions (still not answered yet) are - if Comey and Obama and the Clintons and all of the DOJ were all conspiring to keep Trump out of office, why did Comey announce 10 days before the election that they found more Clinton emails - and why did Comey not announce 10 days before the election that they suspected Russia was meddling in the US election in order to help Trump win? Can the Dark Heart/Black Head DeepThroat conspiracy be so all powerful it they can't even conspire to defeat one of the most blatantly unpopular candidates in our history? Instead, Comey and the FBI pretty much handed the election to Trump on a platter. Why did Obama sit silently in the Oval Office after the FBI had informed him and the Trump campaign about the potential Russian meddling? Seems he could have easily leaked that information (hell, he could have given it to any Trump staffer and it would have been headlining the evening news, based on how easily Trump's admin leaks shit). Instead, this incompetent conspirator said nothing public at all, and Trump got elected. Until you can explain successfully these big plot holes in your elaborately pieced together (but weak) conspiracy plot, it's bullshit, regardless of all the little threads you're trying to combine together into a whole.

By the way, stating that 'anyone with two brain cells would believe me' is also a classic propaganda ploy.
Same as when Trump says "Everyone says so" or "the best people believe" - textbook propaganda, and it's not working, at least not on me.

it is also hopelessly narcissistic. it implies that nobody who disagrees with you can THINK. forgive me for saying so, but that is just an arrogant and insulting idea.

What does a picture of Putin have to do with social conservatives? I know this one! They both send the American left into hysterical fits of rage. Here's a real question for you though: What's evil, spotted, loved by the Reds, and has infiltrated both the Trump administration and the Mueller inquiry under our very noses?

You have to ignore reality to make that point. Page went to a conference that Halper goes to every year. The invite to Page was send possibly as early as March. Lots of people met Halper at that conference including Page.
Halper had his own agenda prior to being contacted by the FBI. Does Page reveal in your link the important and explosive political secrets he revealed to Halper that were about the Trump campaign but did not concern Russia?

By the way, stating that 'anyone with two brain cells would believe me' is also a classic propaganda ploy.
Same as when Trump says "Everyone says so" or "the best people believe" - textbook propaganda, and it's not working, at least not on me.
it is also hopelessly narcissistic. it implies that nobody who disagrees with you can THINK. forgive me for saying so, but that is just an arrogant and insulting idea.
There are few reasonable options left for Spygate deniers. At this point anyone still denying that President Obama, the DNC, and team Clinton directed an operation run by John Brennan at CIA, James Clapper at ODNI, James Comey and Andrew McCabe at FBI all of whom coordinated a political spying operation dressed up as a counterintelligence investigation against the Trump campaign is delusional. Anyone still pretending that Robert Mueller has not been utilized to cover it up- again using the cover of an on-going counterintelligence operation is similarly delusional. It's an unprecedented abuse of power, and it happened pretty much according to my hypothesis expressed in the OP. Suggesting that the continued resistance in the face of facts is somehow explainable, or that pointing out that I'm right, and you're wrong is "propaganda" is ridiculous. Every bullshit excuse, every lie, every obfuscation, every bit of rubbish put forth to supposedly 'counter' the growing mountain of evidence for spygate is the work of arrogant narcissists and insults the intelligence of the rest of us. We've proved spygate. We know the crime happened. Now, the job is investigating the crime to hold those responsible accountable. This is where we are now.
