Personally I'd like to see the proof on these emails. I wouldn't be surprised to find out there's a misinformation campaign against CNN from Bannon or others. Sept. 4 and Sept. 14th are only one digit different. But you know what's not fake? The fact that the email exists. Why would someone send out an email with a Wiki decrypt key after the info was made public?
Its too early to know what the impact and importance of this email is. But it is real news. The only fake thing is the outrage over a news outlet making a needed correction. When has Trump done that? How often should Fox News do that, but just simply doesn't? Fake outrage. Don't sell it. Don't buy it. |

Part of the problem with the fake news out there is the belief in "We MUST be first!" that they have. News services would rather be first than accurate... because they feel "well... we can always print a retraction". The problem is, retractions are too little too late.
Perfect example was the recent ABC and Cross debacle. He reported the wrong information and the stock market dropped over 300 points. Someone (a producer, maybe?) ran out onto the set on The View and gave Joy Behar some script papers and whispered "Breaking news" and then she spread the "news" (that wasn't actually true) to all of their viewers.

Between the revelation that Obama completely corrupted the FBI and the partisan political operatives at the center of the Obama / Clinton / DNC paid for, British & Russian agent fabricated "dossier" driven Russia collusion investigation which is the pretext for a literal coup, and the transparent media complicity- every day this all goes on is better for Trump.
The danger now for Democrats is that they know that for regular people in the real world, the Russia investigation needs to end and the lid needs to be put on the FBI corruption investigation. Neither of those things will happen, because the Democrats have a partisan base living in the mass-delusion they created concerning Trump colluding with Russia. They can't simply sweep it all away now without some "credible", to their base, explanation. Further, Republicans control the government and they will set the agenda concerning the investigation into the corruption and politicization of the FBI ala the EPA and IRS (and probably the rest of the bureaucracy).
The coup attempt has failed.
Democrats are screwed. They're part and parcel of a corrupt and partisan FBI; and they're left to deal with a base of support living a mass-delusion they created. The cognitive dissonance will soon reach an apex and my prediction is just as you've seen the radical alt-left DNC propaganda media do this week-- you are going to see a morally bankrupt, intellectually vacant, and desperate Democratic Party lashing out in their desperation without regard to, or even knowledge of, the fact they're destroying themselves.
I predict that by 2018, when the Democrats learn they've LOST ground in the House and Senate, the party goes supernova and the far left Sanders wing of the party formally splits off and the Democrats experience two to three more presidential election cycles dealing with a situation the GOP face with the "Reform Party" in 1992 and 1996.
Because believe it or not, a sizeable percentage of Democrats are wide awake- they know Clinton stole the primary. They know she's crookeder than a dog's hind leg and this Russia mess is nothing more than a farce designed to cover up her crimes. And they're not going to let it go unanswered.
I call them the An0maly wing-- and you'd better believe they're real, they're serious about cleaning up the Democratic Party, they're fine with Trump's economic nationalism-- and Sander's-- which is why a big chunk of Sanders voters voted for Trump and those that didn't stayed home. This group will NOT be ignored.
I think Donna Brazille is doing yeoman's work as a Democratic Party apparatchik to try to create the appearance the party is dealing with these problems, but as a long time Clintonista who aided in the Hillary Clinton cheating-- the Sander's wing ain't gonna buy it.
These people are leftists, democratic socialists- but they are NOT stupid. They know the Democratic Party shit on them and the election of Trump was but the first of the consequences. They're waiting for another chance to fuck the Democratic Party-- they want to burn it down. Unless it is mandatory for public and private elementary school students to read this book over the Christmas school break, and then to pass a written test in January to prove they read the book in order to move on to the next grade, I don't see the big deal. Parents will or not buy the book for their children. |

Blech. It’d be great to have a reliable news source. i could recommend a few. for financial news i find the Financial Times out of the UK to be excellent. i would use subscriber media for all of the social stuff. pick subscriber media that covers stuff you are interested in and send them money. they will report on what you want reported on, and leave out the crap that doesn't interest you. for US politics and general news any of the top US papers will deliver for you. and again, they need your money. without subscribers, we will all end up with cable news drivel as our only news source. and you are right, it is absolute crap. it is the media equivalent of fast food. |

I'm waiting for the double whammy - all the 'money pouring in' due to this new tax bill going only to the 1%, followed by the second gut punch of "and now you have to work to the age of 75 before you can draw your SSI money that you put into the system, because someone has to offset all the tax money we gifted to our wealthy puppet overlords, so we're hoping all the poors will die before they get a cent.'
Ten years from now we'll either be engaged in a revolution or we'll be a socialist society, and all of it due to the GOP attempting to funnel as much wealth as possible into the pockets of their donors.

All of these Repos drooling all over each other will never recognize that the most recent large tax cuts, which promised the same outcomes to the duped public, failed to deliver.
Reagan cuts ended up with a tripled national debt taking us from the largest creditor to the largest debtor nation. THEY WORSHIP HIM. As we know he then had to have the largest tax increase in history, but on the backs of the working poor and middle class. The upper echelon skated on that one.
Then BushCo. did the same thing AND decided starting 2 stupid wars at the same time was sound fiscal policy. Right. The national debt doubled.
End result...the 0ligarchy continues to grow and gain more power and wealth allowing even more control of their minions in D.C. Thanks a bunch. |
