When will trump resign? When will Moore quit the race?

He's 88 years old and has served for over 50 years. He needs to go.

Electing the same guy for 50 years is definitely not what I would call "draining the swamp".

Most 88 year olds have no business doing what he's doing. There comes a time when you just can't do it anymore. And I think both Trump and Hillary were getting there.

Age discrimination! Age discrimination! (but you are correct) Unlike Orin Hatch who, according to our President, needs to serve "forever". Okay, he should retire too! As I get older, I am thinking senior citizens after a certain age should not vote, as they let their heart vote on what the mind no longer factors the political factors correctly, and also just vote their pocket book rather than real issues that affect everyone. I do not have an actual cut off number, but think 75 should be a start. I know it will never happen, but still think it should. I also think 18 is too young to vote, probably 20 years old would be better.

If not, let me know how you feel about an age 75 cut off for voting...until then, keep dreaming. There are many, many older citizens who may not be physically fit any longer but still have excellent minds...into their 80's & 90's & a few even make it to 100 without losing much brain capacity.

As for voters - shouldn't be based on age. If we were going to start screening, we would want a basic competence test - what is the year? Who is president? - to weed out people who are no longer mentally capable of understanding current events well enough to cast an educated vote do to things like dementia, which can strike people as young as in their sixties.
However, that starts getting into voter disenfranchisement, and that's a huge can of worms.

I think 50's and 60's are prime years for politicians.
But I agree, there comes a point where you're just too old. Donald and Hillary are both older than I'd like for a president. 88 is definitely too old.
Bernie Sanders might run again in 2020, then we could possibly have a really old president.

Conyers age is not the issue. He was put under tremendous pressure by party leadership to step down. The charges of sexual harassment made him a liability. When all the screaming about Moore began, it put all of the creeps in the government in danger.

I'd totally do that if i could get away with it.

It is a crime that there is no forced retirement age. In NY, judges have to retire at 70. They can continue to be "per diem" traveling hearing officers after that after they have gone through a full battery of tests to confirm competence. Interesting there is no Federal parallel.

If you want to go after those at the younger end of the spectrum, the brain isn't fully mature until one is about 25, or 26. Maybe we should set the limit at 25 ... or, maybe we should just leave it the way it is.

One more year to go. The 75 year thing is just a starting point for a serious discussion. It could be 85, but probably should be 80. You should be happy with an earlier cut off, because as we grow older, many vote Republican in ever larger numbers

As far as the 18 yr age, we know it will not change because the democrats need all those under developed brains to vote democrat
