Here's a thought for those on the right or supporters of the Trump, Donald. All a lot of people want for Christmas is for DT to no longer be President. Think on that. People treated Hillary like shite for over 20 years because she doesn't have a perfect politician personality. And the Donald gets elected because he doesn't have a perfect politician personality, or so I have been told.
My head has hurt from the massive contradictions. Because it rarely has been, we will take this failed excuse of a human being because we expect he will give us some conservative givemes even the GOP has denied us. Reality is, if the GOP couldn't deliever before, they aren't going to stick. Are they? Is not DT playing policy rollback with Obama policies whether they were wise, unwise or somewhere in between?

I understand why you think that way. But think on this. Some RWers have been bashing the left and the Clintons since the Monica Lewinsky incidenet. This doesn't end here. Even if Pence is clean, and I no longer believe he is, he's been too much of a toady to be as wise as the guy who turned his job down, Mr. K.
The conservative agenda is *too* conservative, just like Obama & Holder's push for LBGQT rights was too aggressive and soon for the US. Balance is key. Timing wickedly important.

One of the most egregious ways the news attempts to manipulate public opinion is through the distortion of misleading headlines, choice of what content to report and how to present it. None of those involves actual lying. The individual statements within most pieces are factually accurate, but the choice of how to label the overall piece and which order to present the information influences people greatly - especially Americans without critical thinking skills. My kids and I have made a family game out of lampooning headlines. It's so easy to just go to any source - CNN is one of our favorites but is by no means the worst - and pick out headlines that attempt to lead rather than simply report. I've taken to yelling at the TV sometimes when they report some scientific discovery and then I go look up the actual source information. It's like that Geico commercial where the old lady is saying "This isn't how any of this works". This is what happens when news is driven by rating and the need to fill 24 hours 7 days a week. The internet is even worse. Professionals who have spent decades doing the work they do have been snookered by legitimate sounding "journals". It takes a very very sharp eye to recognize them for what they are. More and more it's vital we teach future generations how to evaluate source material and we're failing miserably. That's an esurance commercial.

I realize u may feel VP Pence would probably fill your idea better of how a POTUS should believe then even our current sitter in that chair in the oval office...Pence, a real true conservative with out the tweeting baggage and unsavory sexual history of our Donald...but for so many others...and not sure if the Donald base would flock to him en mass...a Donald he is not...not really known as a great business man, a man of the deal...really more a failed governor...but as started to say...so many of us...do we really know the real Pence? --------------------------------- He has said about himself..in order of importance...he is a Christian, a conservative then a Republican my problem is, I am NOT a Christian and get nervous when religion, any religion , gets mixed in with politics and governing...naturally not a conservative or Republican but have learned to deal and live with that situation. The man is also against abortion, anti LGBT , against planned parenthood because of the Abortions..actually supported electroshock treatments to see if by such treatment , could get one who professes to be gay..they could be moved back to non gay... just a few of his beliefs...that for me , make me want to excuse myself to be violently ill... =================================== www.ibtimes.com/mike-pence-abortion-gay-rights-vice-president-elects-controversial-views-policies-2446434

That is NOT how this country should be, that would just be like the middle east...government run by religion!

We don't need state controlled media... but I don't know.. regulated? Like organic food... what can be called news and what gets an entertainment label? It's a good idea in theory, but bears too much potential for abuse. The most dangerous news outlets are those that report 99% truth with just 1% of careful distortion. One can pack a lot of powerful, nuanced ideas into that 1%. Plus, as many posters have pointed out, what an outlet omits is every bit as important as what it reports. It's impossible to regulate omission of information. And impossible to regulate omission of entire news stories, for that matter.

I should mention in support of my "a little is a lot" thesis above that a Stanford study concluded "fake news" was a net benefit to Ms. Clinton during the 2016 election, despite anti-Democrat "fake news" circulating more widely. The study concluded the anti-Republican (or pro-Clinton) "fake news" was more persuasive in part because it was carried by more trusted outlets. A little is a lot.

Didn't read it yet, but my guess is you are incorrect on the spin. Everyone needs to be on point now. Especially for the next two months. Anything stupid, is likely leading to permanent job loss no matter what your political ideology is or whether you are a politician, entertainer, newscaster, or similar.
Many stupid things have happened over the years in the big networks while someone attempts to break the story first. We are correcting here. First should only be important if the info is correct and verified. MO.
Just now on CNN...a guest journalist spoke on what u just posted...now when u have the excitement of "breaking news" pressure to be fist and all..it's one thing to be in , say a restaurant, and tell something just found out to friends around the table, only later to find out not all the truth... It's another thing to be on the air and put out "breaking news" that later is found not to be as first reported...behooves those organization to be extra careful..to make sure..before putting this news out as "breaking news.." Example was Reagan being shot..."first he was dead, then some one else dead, then another..."u get the picture.. I would suggest the Donald's tweets can be part of the problem...the white house has said one has to consider his tweets as official Trump speak..official idea, policies...not "just Donald being Donald"..

First of all, if an impeachment happens, the GOP will be fractured, and there will be a significant amount of name calling and fingerpointing within the party, with those who stood against Trump blaming the GOP toadies (Like Cotton) who cuddled up to Trump and ignored the warning signs that Trump had inappropriate ties to Russia.
Secondly, Pence will not be a popular president. First of all, he's from the same party, and ran on the ticket with, Trump, who will be hugely unpopular with most voters should it be proven he colluded with Russia. Even if there is no solid proof Pence knew what was going on, he will be tarred with the same brush in people's minds.
Pence is also the personification of a white bread and American cheese sandwich. Even though he has a strong conservative Christian background, he will not appeal to the far right American First/White Nationalists who are the voting backbone of the Trump contingent. Pence doesn't have it in him to give the bombastic, fact-free MAGA speeches that drew people to Trump. He'll probably gain some Christian voters who are not currently Trump supporters, but he won't be galvanizing much of the rest of the electorate, since he has the personality of your spinster aunt who wants to make dogs and cats wear pants so they wouldn't show their genitals in public.
In short, I don't think the government will be thrown into even more chaos that it has right now, and not much will get done until 2020. The best Pence may be able to do is try to re-establish some dignity, civility and order in the government.

This is in a thread already. Reporting to MODs to put this after the one that already exists and has been discussed.
