"I don’t see a deal!"...he didm't want to negotiate...wanted either photo op or for them not to show up......They didn't show up. He's either ignorant or arrogant...arrogant we know he is...dumb he isn't...knows what he is doing...taking the chance if government is shut down...no social security checks over Christmas...other checks not sent out...million gov't workers no pay.. [they will probably get it retroactively when back at work, so no savings there..] taking chance public will blame Dems but as I see it..Pubs control all three branches...so who is in charge...Dems have repeatedly said willing to work with pubs ..Maybe they will try to work it out...lets say they cut out the one where wealth can't be taxed...Trump vetoes...Is there enough to over ride...if so, Trump will melt down with his tweets... In the 2013 shutdown, republicans only controlled the house. We were told that republicans would take the blame for it because they were the minority party and engaging in obstructionism.
Now democrats are the minority party and engaging in obstructionism but they won't be blamed because Trump.
So no matter what happens it's always the republicans fault when there's a breakdown in negotiations that result in a shutdown. Biased much?
Your supporting as flawed a POTUS as any in our lifetime...historically there may have been worse but they were not of a time of nuclear weapons and delivery systems that span the globe in less then a hour..biological weapons that can kill by just breathing in...a home population of over 320 million...and a POTUS who has admitted to using lies as a tool and seems to enjoy admitting to it... It is the GOP who are the power now..the Dems are just onlookers..This guy is a loose cannon...possible irrational...comfortable in distorting reality... His latest...back on the kick of where Obama was born...after admitting and believing he was born in Hawaii.. Having his spokesperson say his posting the attacks of video acts in Britain of Muslims against non Muslims.. having been debunked as false. claiming that is not ... important...what is important the message...lies are ok..[Geeze already] Man is nuts. It is up to GOP to step up and corral this guy for the countries sake or they will in time and not decades from now..pay the price as American public take their revenge on those who had the power but stood aside as this POTUS ran amok..

I think it will be their fault this round because they went and made big grandiose promises about how they were going to get shit done. That's the whole reason they got elected. That's why they are so desperate to pass something, anything even if it's garbage. They have to be able to appear as though they made good on their promises. If the government shuts down that's going to be an epic fail. Political games aside I think both parties are full of douchebags. They all act like small children who never learned how to share. They all deserve a good kick in the pants and a time out. This crap won't change until we actually stand up and force change by voting these yahoos out of office. You're not really draining the swamp if all you are doing is voting in incumbents from the opposite party. You just changed which brand selfish of asshole sits in the seat.

Seriously, I want a candidate, either party to run with the platform that he will fill 30% of the seats on his cabinet with the other party and will veto any bill that doesn't have a reasonable amount of support from both parties in congress. I would continue to support that candidate for the rest of the campaign, even if he walked around in nothing but tighty-whiteys and a fedora and proclaimed hot dogs to be the perfect nutritional source.
Okay....maybe not quite that far, but I would put up with quite a bit.

No tighty whities? As long as he doesn't say hot dogs are ideal nutritionally. 😋

The Democrats weren't obstructing...they were willing to sit down & hash out a deal...UNTIL, DT twitted that there wasn't going to be a deal. They were willing to meet, until they were flat out told that nothing was going to happen...so why bother! Yes, a shut down will be GOP fault and actually...directly DT's fault...but GOP's by allowing him to get away with all the BS he has gotten away with so far!

We're talking about the U.S. budget and you want to insert dreamers? This is what draining the swamp is all about. Congress has to start passing straight bills with no attachments of other items totally unrelated to the actual bill.

VB calls for straight bills yet has fully supported this tax bill from the Repos. Please make up your mind VB.
This bill will also:
-throw 15 million of your fellow Americans off health insurance -establish fetal 529 plans -open up the arctic to fossil fuel destruction
...and probably more.

I disagree.
on your point 1)- It's not that the President said mean things about them, but more of the fact POTUS said "I don't see a deal" BEFORE the actual meeting
on your point 2)- How do you know until they actually have a meeting?
on your point 3)- So you think democrats should IGNORE official White House communications? (that's what Trump's tweets are BTW)
i get that at your job at the waffle house, this could be a world view. but in actual business negotiations, you can say "I don't see a deal", the unspoken part of why you might still have the meeting is because the issue is so important to your duties, that you're going to try, even if it's a 1% chance. ps, let's ask why there's no deal. could it be because the party of no (democrats) are insisting on "their way or the highway"? I'm not sure what the "Waffle House" has to do with anything? (personal attack?) I lean republican, but I try to be fair minded. I am glad Trump is POTUS over Hillary. But the guy has flaws. less than 2 weeks before a deadline (govt shutdown) you don't insult the other party and say "I don't see a deal" just hours before a key meeting with deadline looming when you need some democratic votes.
