Last year I bought a couple of Thermos brand containers to take soup and other hot items for lunch on work days. Neither of them, 1 small and 1 larger will keep anything hot for more than an hour or two.
I need something that will keep things hot for at least 6 hours .....any idea of brands to consider?

I assume you've tried putting hot water in them before adding your food? That way you aren't putting hot food in a cold container.

I saw that Lunchbox brands online. I have 2 Thermos brands and neither will keep the food even warm from 6 AM till 11AM. Stanley seems to have some good ratings. We have a Cabelas here and Academy Sports. Will visit those 2 places today and see what they have.

Look into hydroflask. They also make food containers. DD and SIL swear by there water bottles for keeping items cold. If they are that good at keeping things cold it stands to reason that they would also keep things hot.

The info on Amazon says Hydroflask will keep food hot for 3 hours.....sxratch that one off the list. I need at least 5 hours and sometimes more. I could put soup etc. into Rubbermaid container and microwave it, but that seems like just double work. I only have about 20 minutes for lunch and sometimes I need to eat at my desk....oh well, I'll keep looking.

Am I really the only one singing after reading the post title?
"Oh I'm picking out a thermos for you
not an ordinary thermos for you
but the extra best thermos you can buy
with vinyl and stripes and a cup built right in
I'm picking out a thermos for you
and maybe a barometer too
and what else can I buy
so on me you'll rely
a rear end thermometer too"

OH, I hope not!!!!
I went to Academy Sports and they had Stanley brand so I bought. Right now I'm doing to hot water test for 6 hours. If it won't hold the temps, back it goes. Not wasting more money on another brand and I'll just keep looking.

OK, the Stanley passed the temperature test. I filled the thermos with water at 180 degrees. Waited 6 hours and when I opened it to test it, it had only dropped to 140. Good enough for me for soup or chili.
It was $24 well spent.

I use a stainless steel Thermos thermos. I fill it with hot water first and easily get 6 hours out of it. For coffee, I cannot recommend Kleen Kanteen travel mugs enough. They are stainless steel-lined and I pre-heat those as well. Hot, HOT, coffee for at least 8 hours.

I think most long distance truckers use Stanley thermos', that would be my bench mark for what is good for the price.
