Went up to the mailbox this afternoon and spent probably 15 minutes interacting with my neighbor's dog (we're best buddies) and chatting with my neighbor before heading back down the long driveway to my house. When I left, nothing interesting was happening in my yard. When I got back, the big dawn redwoods in front of my house were full of ducks. There must have been 20 ducks in the 3 tees. Maybe more. The ducks appeared to be having a difference of opinion with a flock of robins that were occupying the same trees. I've seen wood ducks in the trees on the other side of the field next to our little neighborhood, but I've never seen them in my trees. It was interesting but a little weird. After about 10 minutes, apparently unable to reach agreement, all the birds flew away and dispersed into several other trees in my yard, still making their irritated bird chirps and quacks. I have no idea what happened after that as I lost interest and went inside.

Oh that sounds better than my day. I went to back to the old neighborhood, to my old haunt. I had the same meal that I used to have there some 17 years ago, now it sucks completely.

Aw, that's a shame, Jaguar. Sometimes it's best just to let things remain a memory.
I'd offer to send you a duck to cheer you up, but I think they've all gone by now.

Their, um, residue can be a mess relative to their size!
I saw wild turkeys again last week. Only the second time in 27 years I've seen them in town. I took a picture and thought about posting it to FB. There were deer, turkeys and quail off to the side. I thought about posting with a caption "Omnivore's Dream".
Sometimes I'm really proud of my self-restraint.
