My DH, who served during Vietnam, could only visit it one time. Very, very moving, but hard on anyone who served, even after all these years.

My travel gene is worn out. Been to the places I wanted to go except for Luxembourg.
My favorite place to be is home. My momma said that home is where the heart is.

The Wall? Holocaust Museum? I don't want to go on any more Debbie Downer Trips. Give me Brazil, Australia, Mexico, Galapagos Islands... anything with a nice climate and beautiful scenery. B-)

Well, I would love to go to DC again. Went a few years ago but there is so much to do and see there.
I have gone outside of the country quite a few times and really would like to travel to different places in the USA now.
The Grand Canyon is the trip I am hoping to take in the Spring of 2011 and perhaps a trip to New England to see the leaves change in the Fall.
The two big trips I would like to take outside of the US someday - Australia to SCUBA dive the great Barrier Reef and Italy to see Rome and Vatican City.

There is a 3 month cruise on the Queen Elizabeth that I was daydreaming about. It cruises around the world. I would get exposed to alot of experiences and I realize that I would not be immersed in the various cultures in any way due to the short time at port.

Only 3??? We've seen the pyramids of Egypt and the Great Wall of China. I do want to see the Great Barrier Reef. Greece and Italy are also on my bucket list. I also want to make an extended trip to Alaska.

Istanbul - because it's fascinated me since I was a child. I actually was researching a trip there years ago but it fell though due to finances. Morocco - no clue why. Chicago to Seattle by train, Seattle to Vegas by car, and Vegas back home by train. Disneyland with my 2.5 DD who adores Mickey Mouse - that one's actually about 2 years away.

I plan on going to DC to see the wall Why , Because I need to I've seen the Traveling Wall a couple of times. Even though it's a 1/2 scale replicable, it's unspeakably sad.

I've been to Istanbul twice and would go back in a heartbeat. Despite us spending over a week there the last time, there's just so much to see and do, you just can't fit it all in.
I'd like to go back to Greece, but avoid Athens and just hit the islands. I went to the ones off the beaten track last time - which are not so tourist oriented. I'd probably do the same again.
I want to go to Morocco, Portugal, Spain. I'd like to go to South America, a coworker is from Columbia and he's given me lots of ideas. I'd like to see the Galapagos as well.
Australia and New Zealand are also on my bucket list. I'd like to go to Africa and go on a safari. I'd love to go to Tahiti or Fiji and stay in one of those huts over the water....
So many places, so little time.

I'm thinking 1-Venice,Italy[2nd visit]-like the bridges I'd suggest the spring or early fall. less tourists than summer (high season) and not yet in high-water season. I went in November for work, and while still beautiful, it was f'ing cold and a week before some massive floods. seriously - my city newspaper had a pic of someone wakeboarding through Piazza San Marco. Murano Island was a lot of fun, too! I plan on going to DC to see the wall Why , Because I need to I'd like to get back here too, I went at age 13 and didn't fully grasp what I was seeing. for my 3: 1) Capestrano, Italy - it's the last "homeland" of my heritage that I haven't yet seen. I've been to Cork and NB, Canada quite a few times already. I've made it to Italy, but not as far south as Abruzzi. 2) the Ring of Kerry, Ireland - I've worked in Ireland, but not with enough time to fully explore on off-time. I have been as far west as Cork and the Shannon Airport (not sure which is more west) but would like to see the Cliffs of Mohr and the rest of the Ring. I've seen pics, and it just looks so amazing. 3) Sydney, Australia - my cousin's daughter went on an exchange, and brought back the most amazing pics and stories. It just seems like someplace so far away that it's not really real. totally on my bucket list.

Anthens & Rome [for the ancient architecture/art/history..and of course the food] Australia - Scuba-diving in the Great Barrier Reef [I've been a certified diver forever, so I'm ready] Tahiti/Bora Bora - for the sheer fun of it.

and perhaps a trip to New England to see the leaves change in the Fall. maybe because I've lived my whole life here, but why? if you've seen leaves change where you are, it's really about the same. as the tourism industry comes to lynch me.....

Ok you spent three weeks down here in training being bored on the weekends and didn't scoot on up to DC? I'm going to Vegas next month, I have wanted to go there for awhile. 1. Australia/New Zealand-just always wanted to go, talked to people who've gone makes me want to go even more 2. Tahiti or really any place warm and tropical with that clear blue water 3. Europe I'm drawing a blank on the last place friends were talking about, so many of the places have such amazing old architecture, everything's so new here and of the bigger is better mindset
