I'm experiencing fear about my daily commute and having to work in the City. I feel Trump has given domestic terrorists the "Go For It!!! Do it!!! " signal. I feel like I'll be daily walking thru zones with big targets on them.
I'll admit I have always had the thought of a foreign terrorist attack might be a possibility -- but it has always seemed highly unlikely. I always figured the attack that would effect me personally would be "domestic" or "home grown". And now, our President has made me feel fear.
I do NOT like this feeling.

trump has clearly not helped the tension gripping much of the nation as of late. he has only exacerbated it with his ill-chosen words.
Do not let that stop you. Go about your business. Just be aware of your surroundings and notice and report anything unusual.

Yeah, I know. It's just weird -- that it's NOT a foreign attack or some other global disturbance that has actually made me really consider my day to day safety. It's my President who just did it.
I will keep doing what I always do. But, like I said - it's weird to be afraid of my 'fellow Americans'

Quite understandable. We have our own homegrown evil folks too.

I have heard some say in my area, how they will make sure to have weapons on their person, or in short reach, to protect themselves if necessary. This is terrible.

I know how you feel Tiny. I am again feeling like I should get some guns in my house, however, I am still afraid they would be turned against us.
Trump is very much if you are not with me, you are my enemy person. Scary.

I'm not worried about it.
I live in a relatively unpopulated area. And even when I travel in more populated areas, I don't worry about it. Terrorism (of any kind) is meant to pray on fears. The terrorists try to invoke fear because they aren't strong enough to enact change any other way. If you alter your behavior because of fear, they win.

How many shots were fired Saturday by the protestors? How many by the police? Now tell me how many police were shot and how many killed in BLM demonstrations last year? How many building burned in Baltimore last year at the cost of millions? Police vehicles destroyed.... Oh yes, how many people in Chicago have been shot, and the number killed so far this year? How many innocent civilians were shot down on their porch stoop, or through a front window in Chicago? How many were by white nationalists were in this number? Same question for Baltimore this year. We can go on and on, but your fear is based on Democratic liberal dogma....... Your fear is dramatically misplaced.

Yes, yes - We hear you. The shear numbers of white nationalists are less than the shear number of blacks in the USA, so have no fear. Continue fearing black people, as it has always been, and always should be.

I understand the fear. It's unnerving to see this level of hate and anger so openly displayed, especially with an ineffective response by every level of government. It's especially distressing when you can't see an end to it because there are elements on both sides that want a fight. I have to ask. Do you see the violence from both sides, or is it all on the Nazi side? It also was my understanding the city went to court to move the original demonstration to another larger, open area and the court said it was all based on speculation and refused to allow the city to move it.

Continue fearing black people, as it has always been, and always should be. That is a low blow by you, and I did not expect such a response from you. You know I did not say that. I was talking demonstrators and I assumed everyone knew BLM is a well integrated group with many white participants. By the way, do you disagree with my response as far as deaths and shots fired?

Regardless of their membership, continually pegging a group that has black in their name and its primary purpose is to securing equal rights and safety for black people, you are bringing a racist tone to the discussion. We also know your constant referrals to Chicago shooting are reference to black-on-black violence. You can't defend the KKK by throwing black people under the bus and then get all butt-hurt that I'm calling you out on your racism.

Your fear is dramatically misplaced. I'm not sure how many police were shot in killed in BLM demonstrations, but I would guess its much lower than 275. (Roughly the number of politically inspired murders committed by the alt-right)
Whatever her fear is, given she's not a member of the police force it seems more logical she'd be concerned about the alt-right as their increased visibility points to more killings in the near future not less. If you don't go to those neighborhoods in Chicago or Baltimore, why would that impact your fear level in any way?
Would you decide that Muslim extremists are no longer are problem in the US or your personal safety simply because they weren't responsible for killings in Chicago?

Ok, How many people were at this rally, on both sides,, 500- 600, on both side we have every one from hard core Nazi and BLM, all the way to every day people wanting to express their thoughts. Some that showed up to protest the removal of the stature, some that showed up to protest racism. Even if every one was super hard core whatever, out of the 315 million people here, 500 or 600 is what percent?? you are now afraid?? Or, it is pointed out If anyone voted for Trump, Approves racism?? Where does that come from??

I am not afraid, just very sad. I am saddened by the fact that the haters believe they have been given "a pass" because the US elected this moron to the presidency. We are not even 8 months in... we have at least 3.5 more years of this nonsense. I suppose I am afraid of it getting a lot worse.
I was never a fan of Hillary but I really can't believe people think things are actually better with Trump in office. I have currently started telling people that didn't vote, but want to spout off about how horrible it all is, to shut-up. They helped create this mess. If you sat at home and didn't participate in the process then STFU. You might as well have voted for him.

Just out of curiosity, do you think that the government handle Waco and Ruby Ridge well?

Instead of snide remarks it contains actual questions people here can answer. It allows an opportunity for an exchange of views. That's what we should be here to do instead of trying to put one another down. As I said, I'm not afraid. Don't know how you got the idea I am afraid. I didn't say anything about people who voted for Trump. Perhaps, though, you didn't mean your questions for me. Hopefully, others will respond.
