Watching an episode of Cupcake Wars.
Florian Bellanger, the picky French judge, has just uttered these words in this order: "Too much buttercream."
How can that be? Is there such a thing as too much buttercream? Especially if it's chocolate.

Too much buttercream. Leftover cheesecake.
I don't comprehend these phrases. 😁

Yes, absolutely. I usually scrape mine off.

buttercream is cringe-worthy. leftover cheesecake, though. that doesn't parse.

Well, I suppose there is the possibility of too much, but buttercream frosting is one of my vices. I live on (mostly) fruits and vegetables, snack on nuts and flax seed and keep most refined carbs out of the house, but...if someone brings a cake with butter ream frosting to church for coffee hour to celebrate a birthday or other event, I get a corner piece (preferably with a flower) and some of the frosting on the plate where they scraped off the knife periodically, and enjoy every icky-sweet, fatted molecule. Then I step away from the table.

It depends if they are talking real buttercream or that fake oil based buttercream abomination. If it's the former than no...if the latter yes. This was the real thing. Watched 'em make it. Real butter and everything.
That's what made it incomprehensible. There can only be too much fake buttercream (which isn't really buttercream anyway), but too much real buttercream? How can that be?
Is everything I believed about all that is good and right in the world wrong?

As long as it is the real thing, I will assume responsibility for the excess buttercream, take it home and have my way with it. The fake stuff makes me gag, as does fake whipped cream. But real buttercream has so many, um, uses besides cupcakes.

I imagine it would actually make a decent body product: sugar to exfoliate, butter to moisturize.
Or or just pipe from the bag straight into my mouth. I don't judge.

It kind of is heresy. The bakery that did my wedding cake had the most delicious frosting. I wanted to forget the cake and order a vat of the frosting. GOD it was YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
