I know. I'm an idiot. I can't hardly see any article from here - let alone post it.

what's the dress code for men? Is it still collared shirt and slacks?

The last I recall men on the tour were not allowed to wear shorts or jeans and must wear collared shirts. Wasn't it Payne Stewart that wore knickers and crazy socks. It's not unusual for me to play on courses that required collared shirts. I have a couple of sleeveless collared shirts in my car just in case. I'm not sure why they felt the need to define any code at all. I don't wear short skirts because it makes me uncomfortable bending over to tee up my ball or get my ball out of the cup. But that's a personal thing. I'd like to know why they felt this was necessary.

It seems the players, themselves, suggested the changes.

Evidently. I guess the low-cut stuff may be understandable but I don't see how a racerback is offensive. Must be a "skin" thing.

Aren't the short skirts they wear the skorts that have coverage underneath, like in tennis?
Did someone play in a low cut shirt?

I think part of the reference to airing out the side boob has to do with Michelle Wie wearing one of those strategically place cut-out shirts. And I suppose it's not a good tv look to be bending over and having your boobs practically spill out. I'm guessing that the players who brought this issue to the table want to be taken seriously as professionals and feel that can't be accomplished by dressing scantily.

I hope it wasn't one single player on one incident. If Wie did it, don't create a whole policy, have a freaking discussion with her.

What makes sense from a golfing standpoint? Seems like the racerback would free up arm movement. Seems like having things spilling out would create instability when swinging the club.

I think that's what somebody in the article said. It only pertains to a few players so it doesn't really matter. Most sports have some sort of "uniform" and dress requirements. I guess golf isn't any different. I can't say that I've ever worn leggings playing golf, but I don't play unless it's nice enough to wear shorts. I'm a fair weather golfer. Not gonna freeze out there. Sometimes, these ladies are playing in less than ideal conditions. I suppose they have the slacks option.

I saw the shirt that had a cut out under the arm. So not inappropriate. I saw no boobage.

I didn't think so either but I couldn't think of another "airing out your side-boob" issue that might apply. I thought she looked great.

Do your boobs hang low? Do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie em in a knot? Can you tie em in a bow? Can you throw them over your shoulder like a continental soldier? Do your boobs hang low?

Dress code is very important in tennis too. For example, this women's doubles exhibition game at Wimbledon the other day.

I thought so. The players and stadium crowd enjoyed it.

I recall reading something last week about a men's doubles team being told to go into the locker room and change their underwear. Evidently, they were protesting the tennis whites rule by wearing white with black underwear underneath. I would have loved to have heard that discussion.

I don't get it... women, theoretically, want to be taken seriously in sports, but then they opt for the 'sexy' outfits when they play...
I guess they do that so they can answer questions about their wardrobe selection when they win and are interviewed by Sports Casters? (Cause it's pretty obvious women get asked different questions about their game then men).
I would think a "dress code" would level the playing field for the women who are sporting. It would also remove some pressure. As in being pressured to wear something 'revealing' or 'uncomfortable' because they need to maintain an image - because image is MORE important than their ability to play.
Never mind... we all know the sexy dressed woman who can play good is WAY better than the blah dressed woman who can play...

I don't know. I probably dress as modestly as anyone but I love racerback tanks. I like racerback bras because I feel they are more supportive than other bras. Raceback tanks just go along with them. I don't wear them to be sexy. I wear them to be comfortable. One person's "sexy" may just be another person's "comfortable". Personally, I think grown women can police themselves and if there is someone out there who is actually dressing in an offensive manner (whatever that is) - that could be addressed as the situation arises.

Sports have dress codes. If you want to play follow the rules.
I saw some headlines calling it body shaming. What a total overreaction. Nobody calls it body shaming that the men cannot show their knees on the course.
