i lost 5 lbs in the last 6 weeks (which i am happy considering 4th of July and my $1,000 catered party (humble brag :-)
anyways....my pants are real loose. plan is to lose 2 more lbs by 1 Aug (cross fingers) & then buy new pants.
should i toss my old pants or keep them in case i regain weight?

With a 7 lb weight loss, I'd keep them. Is 7 lbs even a size difference? If you lost a bunch of weight, I'd say toss them. You can always buy new clothes if the worst happens.

With the 5 lbs there is a LOT of slack in the waist of my pants.......even with a belt my pants button is starting to droop and stuff......

If your weight loss is a life style change, then go to to a thrift store, buy new ones and donate your old ones. If you are on a weight loss diet and will go back to your old eating habits, then hang on to them.
Hope this is a life style change, your body will thank you for it. .......... Congrats on your loss of weight
