I am ordering photographs taken by the school event photographer.
We decided we want 4 5x7's of one shot and 1 5x7 of 2nd. 4 5x7's cost $30 for regular prints $42 for "pearlized" photos. Retouching is $15 per pose. My son has a bit of a five o'clock shadow, so I was going to retouch. The 5th 5 x7 is either $7.95 or $12 for pearlized version.
But I noticed I can pay $ 40 for "package X" and get "one digital immage suitable for reprinting.
So if I order package X, do I still ask for retouching? It indicates it is sized for 8x10, would I still be able to order 5x7's

Photos can always be sized down.
On the retouching...do you know anyone that can fix what you want fixed? Do you know if this place will?

Retouching is as good as the person who does it; it can be done in Photoshop but I don't know how complicated it is to erase a five o'clock shadow and still leave the skin looking natural.

DD sent a pic of her graduation photo. First of all the gowns are hideous and with her coloring, they're even worse. Secondly, she looks like a football player with his shoulder pads on. She doesn't weigh 500 pounds but she sure looks it. I didn't know what to say about them. Even her hair color looked odd. I think my ex had a similar reaction because she's noticeably hurt that no one wants one. I used the cost excuse. Good grief, her picture in uniform from ocs graduation looks better. 😖

They say they charge $15. The pic we really want is a decent pic of DS. DS is small but Muscular, he qualified for USA Powerlifting Nationals, he does look bulkier than normal, but I guess on a guy you don't care so much if they look like a football player. I never ordered my own college grad pic, It was a horrible shot. Ds has a beard in the pic and the shadow is above his beard. It was an am ceremony, but DS has my Dad's facial hair and the shadow appears by afternoon.

Thanks for the input. I ordered the "digital image suitable for reprinting" this am, along with one 5x7 of the other shot. I did not order the retouching. I needed to get this done and checked off my to-do list and your input helped me make a decision and move on.

The photos of graduates in our college yearbook were not posed in a studio format but in any setting on campus. Mine is next to a favorite tree where I studied or read when the weather was pleasant.
