Not surprising. We don't have much confidence in him, either.

I wonder how much of that is based on educated views or if it is just a reflection of pop culture's disdain.

Doing what right? Abdicating our place as leader of the free world? No longer even being seen as a force for good? What happened to the "shining city on a hill?" There is no longer a beacon of light to inspire freedom-loving people everywhere. What exactly is this administration doing to finally make things right?

It's OK with me if they have no confidence in Pres. Trump! Maybe they're just worried that the hand outs will end....hey, that's the ticket & we can keep our money at home for use on our troubles.

Spoken like a rightist. I think the countries with the least like probably get no handouts and/or allow the US bases in their country. Like Germany. They don't have to be the place many of our military get treated for injuries, but they are. But you might be right about the two with the most favorable ratings. Israel does get a lot of funding from us.
From the OP URL-
The two major countries expressing faith in Trump’s ability to be a force for good are Israel and Russia.

Ack, it appears we give money to Russia. There might be more recent info, but Wiki has the top 25 countries we give money to in 2013. Israel is number 2 and Russia falls in the top 25. (No European countries listed.)

Let's not forget the $150B we gave to Iran under the Obama administration.

He achieved half the return of the S&P 500 during his business career with his daddy's inheritance that included filing BK multiple times and cheating vendors. How anyone could have any kind of confidence in that man with anything but being a reality star is a mystery.

Let's not forget the $150B we gave to Iran under the Obama administration. We didn't give Iran anything that wasn't already theirs. These funds were frozen by economic sanctions by the US and allies that had been placed on Iran due to its nuclear program. The sanctions have been lifted so the money (theirs to begin with) was unfrozen. Some of it won't even get to them. It's owed to other countries, primarily China.

I wonder how much of that is based on educated views or if it is just a reflection of pop culture's disdain. Or on multiple reporting of fake news by world's leading international news agencies.

I don't understand why they need 57 percent of all discretionary spending (especially when foreign aid only takes up 1%).

linkNot particularly surprising, is it? Simply put: if the world trusts Angela Merkel at all (let alone more than Trump) then the world is wrong. Happens a lot, actually. Remember 'detente'. Remember where Reagan told the world they could shove it? Remember the outcome?

You won't get an argument on that from me, but discretionary spending is not the biggest problem we face. It's not even the third biggest problem we face. We need to deal with the now mathematically impossible to pay debt-- and by deal with it, I mean quit repudiating the debt through inflation and just be honest: some of you folks that are owed money ain't getting it. Period. Of course, that problem is politically impossible to solve- people are not suddenly going to go vote themselves less money. They'll keep hoping against hope that the imminent collapse won't happen until they're long gone-- because people are basically selfish and immoral. They don't care that they voted to spend it all, and borrow besides. They just want theirs. Screw posterity.

Remember where Reagan told the world they could shove it? Remember the outcome? I do remember Ronald Reagan. And I do not now and never did have a lot of respect for the Reagan presidency. It was he and his administration that put us on the debt course that will ultimately destroy us as a country, and that fact alone is enough to disqualify him from any list of good presidents. The best thing about him was that he looked and sounded presidential, and that he made people feel good. The thing for Donald Trump fans to remember is this: 'Mr. President, you are no Ronald Reagan.' Donald Trump has none of Reagan's positives, while his negatives far outweigh not only Reagan's but also any other president in our lifetimes. Trump is easily the worst president (already) in generations, and is on track to be the worst ever. The man is spectacularly unsuited to the job in virtually every area. Intellect, maturity, wisdom, compassion, ethics, rationality. He fails in all of those, and more.

FDR's "New Deal", and LBJ's "Great Society" programs put us on the course towards insolvency and economic collapse. This was accelerated by Cloward and Piven - radicals which Obama was a student of, and which perfectly explains why he rolled back the successful welfare reform policies, opened the borders, and invented ObamaCare-- to accelerate the inevitable economic collapse framework laid years earlier for the purpose of collapsing the system and replacing it with their dream of a glorious socialist utopia-- global communism.

The fact that one quarter might have some confidence in him is the most appalling takeaway here.

Aaaand..... off the rails we go! You know leftists like Alinsky wrote things kind of on the order of Mein Kampf in that they are very clear about what they want to do. One of Obama's very few highlights on his resume, "Community Organizer" is verbatim Alinsky. This isn't black helicopter shit. This is who Obama and Hillary are-- they are very open.

I don't know why anyone complains about his golfing. He's only spent 31 days playing golf, that's only 10% of what Obama played ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png)
