that is a weird conclusion, imo.  it is all one thing.

religious conservatives feel INVADED by the US particularly, and other Western nations (and liberalism) in general.  they feel poisoned by our ideas, by our wealth, and by our power.  but to say it is "not because of our foreign policy" is not a deep enough reading of the problem.

there are many nations that have similar liberal ideas to the US.  the difference between these countries and ours is that they don't make a habit of interfering in the foreign affairs of other nations in the MidEast.  ISIS and others are particularly angry about our proxy invasion of the holy lands.
