This reminds me of something funny that happened years ago. I guy I knew was rumored to be a regular pot smoker, and he worked for a lawn care company. Turns out his company got called when a nearby prison discovered the inmates had started a "pot garden" just outside the jail fence. (Good inmates get to do the yard work around the prison.) Guess who was one of the guys who got the job of spraying weed killer on the "weed"? There were plenty of jokes going around, wondering if he'd pocketed any of the plants.

holy hell... a half billion dollars. Here's my funny opium story. My cat had a weird eye thing where his lower lid was turning inside on itself. Well it would irritate the eye and would get infected. So my vet gave us an antibiotic eye ointment to use when it would flare up. This was an ongoing problem so the vet never really questioned our use of it and would give us more when we ran out. Right up until the war in Afghanistan started, when he said he was having a hard time getting the medicine. Turned out that along with the antibiotics it also had a opioid based painkiller. So, little did I know my cat had been chasing the dragon for years and I was then a victim of the interrupted opium trade. Like a good dealer my vet knew he had a few animals who were on maintenance with this drug, so he held some back for us. But it was a surreal conversation that we had about him not being able to get the goods this calls to mind a college friend who failed a drug test in the process of getting hired for a part-time job. he enjoyed a poppy seed bagel with butter every single morning between classes. who knew? lol...

This was surprising. I guess some find the drug trade too lucrative to not do it.

Look at the single moms who are couriers for drugs. If you can make an easy 10k, it's horribly tempting.

Funny thing it was not a white male hillbilly farming the product Who ? What ? What hillbilly ? No white hillbilly would ever do anything like that. Starting stories like that ruins the meth market, I mean the produce stand. Whatever.
