<Make me laugh.> ok....there was once a snail that was sick and tired of his reputation for being so slow. He decided to get some fast wheels to make up the difference. After shopping around a while, he decided that the Nissan 350-Z was the car to get. So the snail goes to the nearest Nissan dealer and says he wants to buy the 350-Z, but he wants it repainted "350-S". The dealer asks, "Why 'S'?" The snail replies, "'S' stands for snail. I want everybody who sees me roaring past to know who's driving." Well, the dealer doesn't want to lose the unique opportunity to sell a car to a snail, so he agrees to have the car repainted for a small fee. The snail gets his new car and spent the rest of his days roaring happily down the highway at top speed. And whenever anyone would see him zooming by, they'd say "Wow! Look at that S-car go!"

What I was looking for in a man when I was looking....I wanted a guy who could make me laugh. I wanted a guy who wasn't afraid of being a nice guy. I am not at all into big Alpha male types who want to beat their chest and roar. I like the nice laid back guys.

lol .. on the snail story. Smiles ... eta, the ability to not take life too seriously, the make me laugh thing. Leave the complaints about the ex in the closet, no sense dragging these around wherever you go. Soft hands, manicured and clean.

As far as appearance, a guy with neat, trim facial hair always makes me look twice. No ZZ top beards or beards that a lot of hunters grow out for the winter though.

Cheesy, I agree about appearances. I can honestly say that personality is more important to me then stunning good looks (although I think my husband is HOT). BUT I will not date a guy who doesn't have good grooming. I had 2 guys that only got 1 date because they showed up with dirty fingernails. I will NOT date a guy that has dirty fingernails. I want a nice clean guy that takes care of himself. I have dated a lot of guys with long hair, but they always kept their hair washed and combed.

I want kindness and honesty and dirty fingernails.
If a man shows me that he is unkind in anyway he is gone. I will not tolerate temper or mean spirit or anyone who tries to control me. I will also not tolerate a thief if he would steal from others he would steal from me.
Dirty fingernails means a man is a working man, a working man can scrub his fingernails but they never come all the way clean. I like a man who wears jeans and boots or dirty tennis shoes, not on dates.
My girl friend and I would go out and look at men together and she told me she figured out why we never liked the same ones. She liked men in suits with shined shoes and I liked men in jeans in dirty tennis shoes. I proved she wasn't right by spotting one I liked in jeans and boots with red laces.

I like a man who wears jeans and boots or dirty tennis shoes, not on dates. quote] I totally disagree that dirty fingernails means he is a working man. My husband is a hard working military man. He has always been hard working. BUT he has the nicest hands I have ever seen on a man. I think I fell in love with his hands first.

Like the rest of you, the list includes good grooming/hair/clothes. Even blue jeans & t-shirts look hot if they're clean. And good dental hygiene and fresh breath is a must. Kind eyes & a warm smile.
Some things I find UNattractive in men:
Men who talk like they're still 12 years old Men who act like they're still 12 years old Men who are a PITA like they're still 12 years old.............

All of the girls look at me in the gym. I must have something attractive. Yanno, I used to go to a gym and stare at this guy all the time. However, I wasn't staring at him because he was hot, I was staring at him because he was a freak. He was about 5'3" tall, spent all his time working on his upper body, so his legs looked like string beans, he had a frizzy mullet, and work wrestling singlets to work out in. And he checked himself out in the mirror all the time. I couldn't help but look.

Rickamortis, I don't know what you use to clean your hands, and I am not trying to be offensive, but my dad was a mechanic too and he used this really stinky stuff to clean his hands. It worked like a charm. I don't remember the name of it but I will never forget the smell of the stuff he used.
I just have a thing for hands (kind of like TD and feet).

I used gasoline, solvent and every kind of hand cleaner there was, After you hands dry out you could get then clean, but there was still grease. I would go through a bottle of loition a month. I worked as a mechanic for 35 years and tried everything

I also recommend slathering vaseline on them at night. It helps soften up the hands and does make them easier to get the stains out.
Of course you really don't need to worry about it. You obviously do not have a problem finding the ladies! I am sure your hands are just fine.

I think they might just be blinded by that neon orange sweatsuit you wear for working out.

I agree with Angel; I like a man with strong, working-man's hands and a good, firm grip. And for some strange reason, a strong neck, too. Shoulders and arms that are lean with some muscle are nice as well, but I don't care for the overbuilt, testosteroned look.

You know, I used to date a technician and it never really bothered me that his nails were dirty. He always tried to clean them up when we went out, but it was difficult and they were never completly clean. Some of the technicians that work in my shop use gloves. My ex-bf never did because he said that it always helped him to fix things when he could feel it with his hands. Some of the things I look for in a guy is the items on the inside: is he kind and compassionate? Does he stand up for me and defend me if necessary? Does he have a good heart and will he accept me as I am? Is he truthful and faithful? I could probably think of some more things but that is what comes to mind right now. I like it when he can carry on a good conversation and when we talk it is for hours but seems like minutes. I am not a religious freek but some religious common ground is good too. But, what do I know, I seem to pick the wrong ones!!!
