I wonder how many people will be on the parade route to welcome our new President. I wonder how many people will be on the parade route protesting his Presidency Which group will have the larger number of participants? Attendance will probably be half of what it was eight years ago? How about the balls that night? Is there more than one party going on that night?

I'm still trying to decide if I want to go to Philly or D.C... If you go to DC, I hope you have a place to stay. Sis and I are staying with BIL's neice (who has decided to join us). Hotels are full (and outrageously ovepriced). There is a closed FB group where DC residents are offering their sofas and any spare space to protestors. Also people who do have hotel rooms are offering to share. Buses are being chartered from NYC (and other nearby cities) so that folks can return home that evening and not need lodging. I expect it to be crowded and very cold.

Apparently 3 balls are planned (there were 10 for Obama's first inauguration). But almost twice as much money ($90 million vs $55 million for the Obama inauguration)
Apparently there are not enough people interested to hold 10 balls.....

President Trump cares deeply about TV ratings and if a TV is turned off, it doesn't get counted in the ratings, so ours will be on....just not tuned to the inauguration..... You can bet he will be comparing the TV ratings of his inauguration to those of his predesessor....

I love watching these things. Loved watching it with Obama and every President since I can remember. Hope it's memorable. But, I can hear the comments now. They are probably being auto-saved as we speak.
1. His hair was terrible. 2. He looked orange. 3. She dressed like slut. 4. The good entertainers weren't there. 5. The protesters were beat up. 6. His suit didn't fit. 7. The food looked horrible. 8. Ivanka is there promoting her clothing line. 9. Putin is probably watching from behind the curtain. 10. blah, blah, blah....
People who want to see him fail are the same as someone wishing a plane goes down with all of us on it. They are stupid. And you can't fix stupid. All you can do is laugh at it.

Ten balls is ostentatious and three is ridiculous. Two are the anatomical norm.

I'm off that day to wait for a furniture delivery (with no "window" ) and will make sure my tv is on, too. I had no idea that was how ratings worked.

It only works if you are part of the Nielsen ratings system.

I think smart tv's are connected to the internet and they monitor your activity.

Ten balls is ostentatious and three is ridiculous. Two are the anatomical norm. As it should be. Even one is fine, so I've heard.
