www.msn.com/en-us/money/realestate/the-worst-states-for-black-americans/ar-AAlj1Zm?li=BBnb7KzHere is a list of states that are the most troubling for blacks living in the U.S. All five are basically in the Midwest. A couple of thoughts..... Two states or possibly three are primarily Democratic party controlled--Illinois and Michigan One state is sort of liberal, Independent leans Democratic--Minnesota One state is primarily Republican---Ohio The fifth state is Wisconsin---Republican state and national leaders in a left leaning Democratic big city and state union controlled state. Another takeaway is four of the five are responsible for electing President elect Trump, and Minnesota almost joined them this year Is the fact these states went red this year prove they are the new old south in rights for black Americans and Dixiecrats all moved north?

Uh, your intel on MI is a tad out of date. The governor has an R after his name when he appears on national talk shows and the GOP controls both houses of the legislature. It's been like that since 2011.

The article is about the 10 worst states for Black Americans. Yet you for some reason feel the need to start a thread about the five worst states. Why leave out the other five states?

I know you will not believe me, but when I posted the article, it listed only five states. Now I look at it and it starts with the five other states at the beginning, with Alabama, etc. I do not get it. Alabama is listed first, and I assure you when I opened the article, it only had the five states I listed.......and the five states I listed are the second five in the article.....looked to see if it was updated, and do not see a update that was added to change the article.... The only thing I can think of, I use MSN as my homepage, and possibly the article opened up on number six, which is very very improbable, but with MSN anything is possible.

Anyway, does it negate the point?

It's been like that since 2011. True, but when was the last time Michigan went Republican for the Presidency? I honestly did not know the R'S controlled both houses of legislature. Look at Illinois Republican Governor, Democratic legislature, and they cannot pass a budget for over two years. The Governor says fix the union pensions and balance a budget. The Dems say, never happens. And it will take generations to reduce the poverty for Black Americans in these states. It will take two generations of students to be educated properly before the economic situation can be turned around and that only happens if the teacher unions start putting the kids first.

Do you really think that long? It didn't take that long to implement things to destroy black families so why would it take more than a generation or two at most to put them back on track? Whites as well.

Whites as well. Every parent want their children to get a good education, but when the parent never got the education, it is hard to keep their kids on the straight track. We have to get an entire generation properly educated, so they can properly guide their kids through the program. Hillary was right about one thing. It does takes a village to keep everything on track But it has to start with proper parenting and guidance. If the guidance is flawed because as an adult you do not have the proper skills to follow through with it, too much falls through the cracks.

I knew a lot of uneducated parents who made sure their kids got the best education possible and that included respect for teachers and fellow classmates as well as good behavior.
