I have 90 calorie granola bars at my desk. They're good for the occasional need for when I need a little boost.

Welllll I ate pretty darn well today, until I came home from work and DH and friend had ordered Dominos and I had two or three pieces of cheesy bread and a (small) slice of pizza. tomorrow's another day... And I'm valiantly trying to ignore all the gelato that DH brought home last night...

Swam tonight but didn't make it as far as usual. Both time and muscles in my arms were screaming. Trying to push myself on distance sets.
Eating is up and down. I'm back down to my pre-travel weight at least. Keeping on keeping on.

The end of my insane week and a half has come. I got in zero trips to the gym. Eating was hit and miss. I still have to cover for a coworker next week, but it will be less stressful and less taxing on my brain. LOL. We have sunshine! And warmth coming this weekend... while I thought about going to the gym tomorrow, I think I will just get out for some nice walks instead!

We're having a Royals tailgate lunch at work today. Does it make me a total fatty that I've only eaten one of my 90 calorie granola bars so far today so that I can eat the brats and burgers later?

No. It makes you smart. I mean, it would be a bad idea having a calorie heavy breakfast knowing you were going to have an indulgent lunch. It is called balance and that is precisely how you do it.

Just saw a coworker wrapping scallops in bacon. That's it! I don't care how many calories I ingest today! I'll eat salad the rest of the weekend.
Also, nobody tell God that I'm eating meat on Friday either. Ok?

You guys, I been sinnin'. Real bad. I have been working out consistently though, and that's the only reason my clothes still fit. But I feel really shitty in the morning and when I work out. I start out the day fine, but by midday my body is like GIVE ME ALL THE SUGAR AND CARBS!!!!!!!! Despite starting to use daily affirmations, doing more cleaning/organizing, and getting some more call - backs and interviews for next week, I am still feeling a "low" right now. I just want to watch TV, read, eat crap, and lay around. Maybe it's the nasty weather we've been having. idk... but I need to turn myself around before I get set in some really unhealthy patterns.

This is totally it - it's ok to be in a funk or have a splurge meal. Or day. Or days. But when it becomes a habit that's a problem. Thanks for reminding me, needed this today.

I'm tired, I came home from lunch today hubby wanted me to help mow. I was so tired I lay down and went to sleep, slept about 4 hours. I'm up now but I don't think late as usual. Going to be pretty tomorrow so going to try and mow and work on cleaning the pontoons on the boat.
Have not exercised today.

Weekly check-in:
Actually, this is a the-year-so-far check-in:
It's been exactly three months since I started putting some effort into getting in shape. My upper body is looking really good. To me, toned arms and shoulders are so attractive on women, and I'm happy mine have such nice definition. I definitely see more muscle in my legs; still not where I want them to be by a long shot, but getting better. I'm down 5.5 pounds (I actually lost that the first two weeks, but it's stuck) and I've lost one inch on each thigh. The lower carb eating is now the norm, though I've relaxed it a lot from the first few weeks. My digestive system is much happier this way. I haven't had even a sip of my beloved Mt. Dew in three months. I don't miss it a bit. Ok, maybe a teensy bit now and then.
So that's where I'm at. I'll keep on hitting the gym and watching the carbs. It's only April 9th, so hopefully by June I'll really start to see good definition in my legs.
Hope you all are seeing some progress too. Have a great week!

was up a couple pounds on the scale this morning, probably due to eating some pretty heavy food rather late last night. still within expected range. back on the healthy food wagon today. this weekend, I played two games and was astounded to see the difference in how I felt from the first game on Saturday to the second game yesterday. like night and day. hockey definitely uses some muscles that I don't use otherwise.... but I'm impressed with myself in how I bounced back and was able to keep up after a year away from the game. definitely still out of shape, but I did better than I thought I would. going to take the pups around the neighborhood in a little bit. I went back to Marathon Sports this weekend and picked up the pair of New Balance sneakers I had liked a few weeks back. not going to break them out just yet, I think I want to do that on the canal.

Down to 174 this morning - probably dehydration, but whatever, I'll take it.
Shrinking out of some 12s. Haven't broken out the size 10s yet though.

I have a pair of size 10s that fit. They're "curvy cut", so they're probably closer to a 12, but I'll take it. I am wearing a pair of pants that I was too fat to wear last summer. They're too big now. Then I started thinking about how much it is going to cost to replace my clothes. I don't even want to know what my wardrobe costed me. I'm waiting to replace things though until I get one more size down. Then I'll start getting things little by little.

I actually dropped a little this week after being careful to try to be good when I could and control portions - 180.8 this morning! Wanted to get under 180 for Easter so long as I'm good this week looks like I will! I haven't been under 180 since... probably just about a year. Sheesh. I was looking at pictures from our Greece trip almost 2 years ago and lamenting how thin I looked back then, even though at 145 back then I thought I was still chunky. My size 14 Tommy Hilfiger work khakis are getting to the point of being uncomfortably loose around my waist/hips, and I'm in a 10 Nine West jean now (although some Old Navy jeans I have in like a 16 still don't go on, sizing is so weird and annoying.)

Weight and sizing makes no sense to me. My friend recently lost weight because of some medication she's on. We were talking the other day and she wears a 10 and I'm in a 12. Her weight is in the upper 130s or lower 140s she said. I last weighed at 163. We're about the same height. I'm all muscle and she isn't though. At the end of the day, I don't care how much I weigh, I just know what size I want to be.

I'm not looking forward to that cost either. what I'm doing for clothing options as I shrink is dresses, pretty much all jersey knit dresses than I hang dry now, but can shrink in the dryer as needed. and I bought LLR leggings for last summers dresses to wear as the winter warmed up. not spending a whole lot of cash on this size.

I haven't replaced anything yet. I've just been wearing my stuff too big. As summer comes along, I'll be living in dresses. I also snagged some clothes that Thing 2 didn't want anymore or that didn't fit her. She wears a 12, so I have been raiding her closet a bit. She takes my stuff all the time, so it's only fair.

Yeah, I'm still in size 12 for the most part, but I'm currently 153, and I've always been muscular/heavier than I look. I don't get it. I did wear some 10 jeans this weekend, but I had a bit of a muffin top.

I also carry my weight in my upper body and have really narrow hips. so my bottom was a Medium and my top was L/XL.

I had a pretty good weekend step wise. I worked out Saturday morning, then DH and I decided to go outlet shopping that afternoon. That's the most steps I've gotten in one day in MONTHS. It felt wonderful at the time, but once we were home and I was sitting down, I told DH it was clear I wasn't in as good of shape as I used to be b/c my legs were a little sore. I really need to make an effort to get in some more steps during the week.
Today is a rest day, though it's so nice out that I did take a walk around the building at lunch. 3 laps around the parking lot/building is a mile, and I'm hoping my 2:30 meeting can be a walking meeting so I can do another 3 laps. I'm pretty sure everyone who sees me out walking laps thinks I'm weird, but whatever. It makes me feel better and helps me be more productive.

My "favorite" sizing story is from buying DD pants and shorts in the same store. Pants were a 4, shorts were an 8. WTF?
