Did my weigh in today. 163.4. I'm pretty shocked because I drank a lot of beer this weekend and haven't been hitting my step goals. I'll take it.

Hit the gym today and as i was nearing the end of my 40 minute treadmill jaunt, I could feel my blood sugar dipping. i totally wasn't hungry at all when i went (10:45am) i did eat two turkey snack stick things and a block of dark chocolate thinking that would keep my blood sugar up, but apparently not. I HATE dealing with these blood sugar ups and downs, which means I really really have to get things under control. Now i've wasted calories and money on stupid fruit snacks, because they are basically sugar, in order to get everything back up.
so i need to come up with and plan a pre-workout snack so this doesn't happen again.
Also- I'm not going to listen to myfitnesspal's calorie allotment because I have been following it and I am not losing anything. I'll change it up this week and see what happens.

For the first time since January, I did a 15 minute video at lunch! Ankle didn't have much of anything to say about it and because I've taken 2 kinds of allergy meds for 2 days in a row, neither did my lungs.

For lunch today I'm having oatmeal. I bought these 100 calorie packets, zero sugar, decent protein and fiber, added flax seeds. Anyway, I decided I would need 2 of them, seeing as how I'm starving and I worked out this morning. Um, this is seriously the most oatmeal I've ever seen in one bowl!! LOL. I mean, I'm going to eat it all, no doubt, but lesson learned. I could have made one packet and eaten my other lunch snack-y foods (banana, yogurt, string cheese, raw veggies, etc that I stock in my office) and been completely fine.

My dinner last night consisted of a banana and a kings Hawaiian dinner roll, half of which I fed to the dogs because they were begging. I was starving today and ate my oatmeal this morning just finished a bowl of soup. I have Craisins and wheat thins if I get hungry later.

I used to have half an English muffin with pb on my drive to boot camp in the stupid early morning. sugar will just make you crash, as you saw yesterday. it does suck, I have the same issues. try peanut butter.

I ate some turkey which was like like 8g of protein and a square of dark chocolate... so it wasn't carb heavy or anything. A spoonful of peanut butter would have actually have had less protein. I will come up with something with protein, fat and a little carb. I am not doing anything major at the gym... generally about 40 minutes walking on the treadmill... usually 2.5 miles at an incline. I will poke around the fridge and see what I have for tomorrow For lunch today I'm having oatmeal. I bought these 100 calorie packets, zero sugar, decent protein and fiber, added flax seeds. I eat half a cup of rolled oats and that has 150 calories... and it is only oats from the giant canister, nothing added. And it isn't a big bowl. It is like half a coffee cup at work lol I'd definitely be interested in something with decent protein etc. Please share!

But as I said I am trying to get muscles stronger.
I have no problem sitting and getting up out of a chair, but I get on the floor or ground it is difficult for me. I just watched a video on how older, or I suppose younger people can do it. I can in that manner if I have a solid surface to rest my hand on as suggested. But they showed using your other leg and arms to raise yourself and I cannot do it. I need to strengthen different muscles, I get in the garden and have to keep a hoe to use to help me get up. Need some kind of a platform.
I am strengthening my back and legs that's a big improvement, getting sturdier in my gait, so I am doing something. Was getting to where going up and down stairs I had to keep my hand on the railing, at the post office today was able to go up the stairs without touching the hand rail, big improvement.
But also tried standing on 1 foot and my ankles are so weak, I'm lucky to do 2 seconds, maybe I can do better with shoes on, will try that, supposed to be 7.5 seconds for someone in their 70's.
May need to go to someone that works with seniors and helps improve strength, sitting all winter is killing me, takes me all summer to get back in shape. This year want to get there and stay there.
Doing my exercises nightly and they are making a difference, I will always be constrained somewhat with my very bad right ankle and not so good left one. Just hate it. Just can't imagine that I am getting like this, going to fight it all the way and get myself in better condition then this.
Breakfast shredded wheat and coffee
Lunch cup of broccoli cheese soup and diet coke at Subway
Dinner tacos, ate 2, then had some dates
Will have warm milk later with my evening pills

Let me add I can get up and down, kind of misleading, its if I get into a squat position I cannot stand up directly from it. With my hand on anything I can rise up.

Ok, oatmeal. It's called Better Oats, Instant Oatmeal with Flax Seed. I bought the 100 cal packs. Apparently you can buy it on Amazon. I have only tried the 100 cal packs b/c that's what my Kroger had, but I think I'll try the steel cut oats next. I bought it b/c the list of ingredients was so short and the 100 cal packs had zero added sugar. sarcasticgirl

Does it have the texture of instant oatmeal? Right now I eat rolled oats with honey, i just pt hot water on the oats and let them sit a bit then add honey. i hate instant oatmeal because it gets so mushy. I'll look for these in the store and see if that is a better option, but in the mean time... i can totally add flax seed to my oatmeal.

I don't like super mushy, runny oatmeal, so I always use way less water than the directions call for, then add a splash of milk/more water if needed.

I don't like regular oatmeal to soft. Love the texture of steel cuts oats, like the kind of crunchiness of them.

Swamped at work.. boss leaving for Paris today. He's out for a week and a half and I am covering his work while he is out. My coworker is out the week that he gets back. We are a group of three which means sarcastic is doing 2 jobs for the next 2.5 weeks. Not sure how the gym is going to fit in... I think 3 days a week will be my goal, but won't be mad if I only get 2 as long as I keep my 10k steps and my food in check.

I'm skipping the gym tonight to go to a Hispanic Chamber event. So instead of working out, I'm going to be having beer and tacos. I regret nothing.

didn't get a good walk in this morning, as it was damn cold out and not approaching 50 degrees like the forecast said. but I got the dogs to the park, and had a healthy breakfast, so hopefully I was able to minimize damage. I chopped tomato and onion to bring to work for a sandwich dinner, and also chopped up a couple apples to have with peanut butter as snacks, instead of working on that bag of Doritos I bought Monday. come on, spring....

I'm really hoping we get to the dog park this weekend. It keeps raining though, so I won't hold my breath.

I'm here. Eating has been a disaster, working out mildly less so. Went to children's museum Saturday and threw out my back, so no swim sunday. (Did I already tell you this? Unsure.)
Left work early yesterday to swim. Did a hard workout and my swim cap split in damn half about 400 yards into my 2000 yard workout! My hair is long, thick and curly, so not very streamlined. I definitely felt the difference in my neck afterwards - no permanent damage but was sore from the additional weight and drag on my head! Otherwise not too sore today. Looks like last week it was really the short body-weight workout and then swimming the day after that really killed me.
Planning to leave work early again tomorrow to get a swim in. It's going to be the only way to make this happen while DH is gone.

I did another 15 minutes during lunch yesterday and nothing today. I also ate like a crazy person to celebrate actually doing something so it was no help. Someone come lock up all the snack food at my house please!!

So with the intermittent fasting I've lost now 34 pounds since September. I'd really like to lose another 10 or so - I'm embarrassed by how heavy I'd gotten. The loss rate seems to have slowed down quite a bit lately. Now that I'm over my bronchitis/asthma, and know that I have an ulcer and not some other, harder to treat, ailment, I hope to up my exercise enough to make a difference. Right now it's mostly walking the dog for 2-3 miles a day.

That is fabulous, if I could lose that much, I would be at a weight I haven't been in 30 or more years, would weigh 156, for me that would be perfect, would be normal BMI.
I envy you, for sure

It is after 9pm and I just finished work. I am exhausted and have an early start tomorrow but I am finishing my 10k steps before I go to bed. Tomorrow I am going to try and hit the gym despite the insane workload.

tomorrow is slated to be sunny and seasonable (high 40s/low 50s) so we will be taking a walk along the canal for sure.
