when do you get up in the morning? Is it possible to get up 30 mins earlier and squeeze a YouTube workout in? If you do that, check out JessicaSmithTV on Youtube. She has some great walking, cardio, and barre workouts that are 25-40 mins long. The only other time is when they go to bed, but working out late at night has never been something I was able to do. I can't get up early. I just can't. I've tried for years. I cannot force myself out of bed any earlier than necessary. If you want change, make it necessary.

There was a post on the Mr Money Mustache blog not too long ago, about incorporating squats/lunges into whatever you're doing. I'm going from memory here, but it was something like, walk into the kitchen and do a few lunges, and then go on to whatever you were doing. (Sorry, I can't reference it directly, as I keep getting blocked from going anywhere on this computer.) Between that and running around even more after your kids, and you might be good with maintaining your fitness level for the month. ETA: The computer let me in. Could you make your kids a part of it? Have a dance party before bed? It might help to tucker them out too!

alright, I'm ready to stop wallowing and figure out a plan. Swimming at night is obviously no longer feasible given single parenthood. Tomorrow I'll need you guys to help me figure out a new workout plan! what about the body weight circuits you and DH used to do before BB2? If I remember correctly, you had great success with that. You can do that at home and it doesn't take very long!

I can't get up early. I just can't. I've tried for years. I cannot force myself out of bed any earlier than necessary. If you want change, make it necessary. I've tried countless times to do morning workouts. My body just doesn't do a decent workout in the morning! I can drag my ass outta bed, but my energy level isn't there no matter how committed I am. If you are already lacking in sleep, or barely getting enough... forcing yourself up isn't healthy. Proper sleep aids in weight loss too I think there are ways to get some workouts in during the day. even if it is only 10 minutes at a time!

Link: www.mrmoneymustache.com/2016/12/13/staying-fit-with-no-gym-in-sight/I used to do this! forgot all about it. I also used to take little breaks during the day and do "stairs and strength" where I'd go in to the stairwell, up a flight- do a body weight exercise (squats, lunges, wall push up, etc) walk up another flight... do a body weight exercise... continue up a few flights and then back down. It would be a 10 minute break... I'd do it a couple of times. I also used to do squats in the bathroom every time I went... I have a tiny bladder and go a million times a day. I had thighs of steel! Thanks for posting this... I am reminded of all the little ways to sneak things in and am going to get on it!

I have a question. So I'm new to the whole elliptical thing and have just been setting the resistance up a notch every week. What resistance do you guys set it at? I am up to 50 right now and wondering if I'm way behind others. I still sweat, but it takes a while to get there and my legs don't burn that much. Am I doing it wrong? Should I just set it on interval training? If I do, will it set the resistance for me? I don't want to overdo it, but I'm not as out of shape as I used to be. And I need to get this last 10 pounds off!

I get good workouts in when I work out first thing in the morning. I can do night workouts, but I find that I have more excuses and things filling up my time. Also when I work out first thing in the morning, it's done and I can enjoy the day more awake and feeling good.

I'm just not a morning workout person. I have tried so hard to be. Just not. I will work out till 10 pm no problem. To put this in perspective, I can barely get out of bed in the morning to feed my actual live children. The gym does not stand a chance!

I'm still not breathing right (feel congested but nothing there, just can't do deep breaths), so I'm avoiding everything except short workout circuits on Sworkit and we won't discuss how few of those I've done.

I managed to keep my whole day so far under 500 calories and a co-worker got a wrong order from Buffalo Wild Wings. So I ended up eating most of a snack size of garlic wings. Damn me and my fatness!

It is possible you aren't eating enough calories and that's why your weight doesn't change 500 calories for the majority of the day isn't very many.

I don't know. I try and keep it as low as possible since I don't know how to measure calories when I cook as I never follow a recipe.

But i occasionally weigh or measure food I have already prepped before throwing it in. Now, I am pretty good at eyeballing it. I am very aware of the size of 4 Oz of meat and a half cup vs. 1 cup of veggies.

I need to start doing this.....once this place starts clearing out at 5 or 6, and definitely once my boss finally leaves, there's no reason I can't do sets of crunches or pushups in my office by myself. I'm here til 10, I may as well be productive.

I was pretty good all day to prepare for this calorie bomb dinner - homemade crab mac and cheese with a side of green beans. DS had FOUR helpings and damn near licked the plate when he was done! I *may* have had two helpings.

The goal to eat better went out the window.
I have been making one bad choice after another.
Hope I can do better tomorrow.

I ate like hell today but told myself I was going to do circuits tonight.
Then DH called from Australia, which the girls were happy about but lost their damn minds at bedtime because they aren't old enough to process complex feelings like being happy to talk to him but also sad he's gone. I just want to crawl into a bottle of wine.
