I find the only runners that I can wear are Nike and I have small narrow feet. I've tried everything else and they all wreak my feet, where the Nike do not. I wear Nike light weight runners around the house cause they are so damn comfortable and they are way better than slippers.

No, I'm just sore, not in pain. Believe me with my issues if I were I would not do it for awhile and see my doc or chiro.
My back feels better then it has in months and I'm concentrating on strengthening those muscles and the big muscles of my legs too. I was getting wobbly, sitting all winter does that, I need to keep fit in the winters also.
Just did a lot of exercises that used those ab muscles more then I realized. I did not do crunches tonight.

chiver check out Foot Smart and Zappos I believe both carry the AA heel, my mom had issues with that also.
I order shoes from there also because I need big shoes but medium width and I like wide toe boxes.
Another shoe I have been ordering from our pharmacy for people who are diabetes and feel wonderful are Apex, but not sure they have narrow widths.
Good luck good fitting shoes is my constant quest as I wear mine out pretty quick.

what is Foot Smart? I've ordered from Zappos before. the problem is, I like to try stuff on. even if my ASICS haven't been perfect for me lately, they are always an 8.5 and I can order by mail as long as they don't have the super high heel back. I think that's a support? it irritates my heel to the point where it draws blood. ahhh, no.
I keep hearing there's a running store in Mashpee here on the Cape, where they will fit you by gait/stride and by foot. I didn't realize we had that here, thought it was just in Boston. so that's where I need to go in the next few weeks, because as the weather improves, the pups and I will be walking that canal path way more than hitting the dog park. and for longer distances ad we all work up to it. barely 3.5 miles today pretty much killed both of them. ah, no.

Foot Smart is online, look it up. They have lots of products for your feet. I just ordered more of the "worlds softest socks" from them, DD loves them and I do too. But they just doubled the price of them. If they raise them anymore we won't be buying them. They feel so good on my feet, ahhh.

do any of the rest of you have narrow feet? what brands of sneakers work for you? specifically, my heels are stupidly narrow. there are a few brands of regular shoes that cause me ankle pain for over compensation bc they are so loose. my sister has narrow heels and really likes Ryka -- she has ordered them from Zappos and QVC. She says they fit perfectly, but she orders up one half size because she says they run small in length.

They have a decent selection of Rykas that you can try on. Especially since they don't fit true to size.

I'm just gonna glaze over all my food choices for the past 2 days because they have not been good, lol! Yesterday I played Just Dance with DS in the morning for a bit and last night by myself, and I was really able to get into it. This morning was 5 mins of weighted booty work (legs lifts, fire hydrants, leg raise/pulses) and then a 45 min vinyasa yoga practice. I just finished breakfast/brunch. Not great food choices, but enough protein and fiber to take me through to dinner. Maybe I'll only have a snack/fruit smoothie in between.

I have worn Rykas also and they are a good shoe.
Right now for me these Apex are the best fitting and feel good. I have to have a lot of padding and softness in my shoes if that makes sense. Also a very stiff, rigid heel area to hold my foot up straight. Hard to get both. And these go up higher on the heel which gives me more stability.

Chiver, I'd definitely go to the running store and get fitted. I wear Asics, the Cumulus and Nimbus are my favorite running shoes. I don't have good luck with ordering running shoes online, so I prefer to go in store and try them on before I buy. I know many people who get fitted and are able to order new pairs of shoes online, my feet are like the princess and the pea; the slightest difference and I don't like it! Luckily, my run club gets a 10% discount at Philly Runner and there is a location near my office!

My Rykas are dance shoes, but they do sell cross trainers, so surely they have running shoes too. I have a hard time with athletic shoes because I have flat feet. Running shoes feel like there's a baseball in my shoes. I don't run, so I wear cross trainers when I'm not in Zumba.

Apparently that is what all the runners wear. While I mostly do walking/little bit of jogging, I have found them very helpful! They run $10- $13 a pair... so I recommend keeping them in a lingerie bag so the sock monster doesn't eat them in the laundry. I am adding to my collection every few weeks.

Feetures is also a good running sock.

Pat is there a Second Sole store near you? Our podiatrist recommended the store and we are pleased with the fitting and the selections for men and women. Plus we get 10% off of each purchase.

Aside from a bit too much dark chocolate and netflix... weekend wasn't horrible. I had tons to do around the house and even though I haven't gotten tons of steps, I have been up on my feet most of the day. Food prepped, feeling organized and ready to take on the week!

One of the things I love about the worlds softest socks is they have no seams. Seams always seem to cut my feet somewhere somehow.
I looked at those 2 brands of socks and may be worth my while to buy one of each to try.

Welp I tracked almost 9k steps today.. but forgot to take the fitbit off during orchestra tonight so maybe 2500 of those are from playing, lol. Need to remember to take it off during rehearsals!
Hoping to get back to tracking my eating on WW tomorrow, I've made some decent progress and don't want to fall off the wagon..

Did my exercises tonight.
They must be making vanity sizes even bigger. I have gained 4 to 5 pounds and bought size 14 slacks that fit nicely. If I made some out of one of the patterns I have bet they would be an 18 or 20.
I know I'm tightening saggy muscles but really.
Also taking minerals, today no arthrotec at all and tonight did take a hydrocodone/acetaminophen, but very few of those either. If I keep this up don't see a need for a pain management doc. I really think the magnesium and potassium are helping, like I've said muscle cramps have gone away, but greatly improved. Of course right ankle hurts at times and I will take Advil. Will try to continue to get off all the pain stuff. Tuesday to chiro. May go monthly for maintenance.

Weekly check in
Missed step goal by over 6000. Weight up a bit. Most likely due to poor food choices.
This week I keeping step goal at 75000. Work on curbing unhealthy snacking.
Keep up the good work.

Did a short (20 min.) Pilates video on Saturday, as my neck was bothering me again. Nothing yesterday, unless taking the kids to the family fun pool counts. There was a lot of chasing, and some lifting and a little going-against-the-river-pool-current. Food--I don't even know. Not horrible. Just treading water here. I've got to meet a physical therapist at my mom's this afternoon, so exercising today isn't looking too likely either. (PT is for my mom, not me.)

took the pups to the park this morning, after stopping at Marathon Sports to talk about sneakers. they don't carry Ryka, but I found two that I liked. I took pics of the labels (the woman must have thought I want to just find a better price anywhere else...) so I remember what I liked. I do still want to try a pair of Rykas, though. if I don't like them, I'll go back to Marathon.
one pair I liked was Brooks, the other was a New Balance with a more solid, even sole. both are apparently updated versions of the model.

Then instead of thinking about eating lunch I better get outside and walk. lol. On a serious note hope your knee heals quickly.

oy, so overwhelmed looking at Ryka's website. question for you fans - how cushioned are your sneakers? that seemed to be the balance point when I was trying stuff on this morning. I don't need as much support as I do cushion. these are the two I took pics of this morning, I would be okay with either shoe. but I do want to try on some Ryka, since so many of you mentioned them. and, since so many of the walking varieties are so much cheaper than either of the two below. it definitely behooves me to try them on, at least. New BalanceBrooksETA: fixed the NB link. weird.

New Balance BrooksI am partial to NB but I have a wide foot and extremely high instep. They offer me the most support and feel like I am walking on cloud. But I try them on in the store. Hard to fit here.
Oh, and I clicked on the NB link but got a blank page so can't comment.

DH just left for a spur of the moment work trip. To Australia. For a month. Leaving me with a 2 year old and 5 year old. I have feelings and I'm eating them.
Seriously off the wagon, and no plans to get back on soon.
