I eat oatmeal every morning. No toaster oven needed. I need protein... I can't just do oatmeal. This is especially true since my workouts are in the morning.

Last year I got this vanilla protein powder that I wasn't crazy about in shake form, so I started adding it to my quick oats. It sweetened the oats enough for them to be edible and I got my protein.

I don't care too much for oatmeal already, adding a protein powder (which i generally find disgusting) to it would probably make it inedible. My Dr. recommended a pea protein a while back, since I can't do Whey or soy, and I tried so hard... but could not get used to it. I am going to try a breakfast salad tomorrow.

Lol I really wasn't fishing for ideas to add protein to oatmeal. I don't really like oatmeal very much, just eat it sometimes because it is easy. I would rather eat something other than oatmeal. Dairy free and gluten free make it tricky, as does the fact that I don't enjoy microwaved eggs ( which i discovered this morning and led.us to this convo) I really am going to try a breakfast salad tomorrow. I feel hopeful!

My zucchini went bad so no zoodles. Instead, I grilled some chicken breast, topped it with pasta sauce and Parmesan, ND sautéed some Brussels sprouts. Not exactly what was planned but I'm trying!

I haven't worked out yet today, I did leg lifts and back leg lifts. Just ate so waiting about an hour before I do, was out most of the day so didn't get a chance yet, then had to fix dinner.
It doesn't take me long to get my back strong again so I don't know why I don't do it all the time. It's like I just cannot get motivated to exercise. Why I just don't know, drat.

I made my favorite quinoa sliders for dinner. I could eat the whole damn batch! They're so damn good. damndelicious.net/2012/11/19/southwest-quinoa-sliders-with-avocado-cream-sauce/Today was my first day back in the office. It was exhausting and I ended up leaving at 3 because sitting started bothering me around 1. I did also make the rounds on my floors chatting with people, so that is also a contributing factor. Still decided to cook dinner since I have PT tomorrow night and need dinner that I don't have to cook, so leftover quinoa sliders it will be!

Back from my mini vacation. It was glorious...I needed that!
Eating was fairly awful. I tried to keep to the low carbs, but that's difficult when you're trying to choose restaurants that make multiple people happy. At least all that vodka I drank was low carb, right?
The condo we were staying at had a gym, so I did work out one day. We also went on two hikes, one of which was a serious workout. My legs are definitely feeling it today, but I think all those flight of stairs I've been doing at work actually helped.
I'll weigh in tomorrow morning and see how much damage I actually did, but overall I think all the hiking and walking around evened things out.

I say American Blend since tried them all and go back to this. I got tired of oatmeal then stumbled across this. Vegan - not why I buy it I just plain like it. Just a thought.

I might actually grab some though, would be a nice addition to DH's greek yogurt, or a good snack!

Despite feeling rough, and having cramps... I got in my workout this morning! over 9k steps and I haven't even left work for the day.
Plan for the weekend is to really get meals planned and prepped. I couldn't do breakfast salad or breakfast fried rice because MIL is visiting and we only had enough eggs for her and DH to have today for breakfast.

Spent most of the day dealing with MIL and her sister at the beauticians, both got perms. But I think they way overbooked or something so it took from about 1 till almost 4:30, but we got her done, whee!
My ankle was hurting last night so didn't do my exercycle, I did do leg lifts all the way around from 20 to 40. Did side, back, front, and lifting the posterior. I don't want to stress the ankle will try again tomorrow afternoon most likely. Hubby says exercise won't help in a week, well I'm not in that poor of condition so it really doesn't take long. Going to do those again tonight and maybe add some others. It doesn't do aerobics to lose weight but it does stretch and strengthen so that is a good thing. My back is feeling better, we are also taking minerals for a couple of weeks and no more leg cramps. Concidence? I don't know.

didn't move much today, after sleeping in kind of unexpectedly (woke up too early, and felt stupidly dehydrated since the house is so dry). did a few things around the house, then took the dogs to the park before coming in to work. but, I made decent food choices today, so I'll take that as a win for the day. lunch was an eggplant parm sandwich on a bulkie paired with broiled prosciutto-wrapped asparagus. 2 slices of prosciutto, more than 2 spears of asparagus. dinner was a chicken cutlet sandwich on a bulkie, with onion/tomato/spinach paired with a small salad w/chopped veggies and vinaigrette. had a snack of snap peas and a 100-calorie guacamole tub. I may pour a glass of wine to sip while I watch a little more basketball when I get home. food goals for tomorrow - have mostly vegetables when I meet friends for lunch at the Chinese buffet. bring another small salad to go with whatever else for dinner. move goals for tomorrow - bundle up and walk the dogs instead of going to the park. it takes less time, and gets me moving at the same time.

Got my full (nearly an hour) kettlebell workout in yesterday. Skipped the Thursday Little Caesar's pizza, and ate slightly better, but not great. Gotta get a handle on the weight. My routine has been disturbed, which seems to screw me up in all kinds of ways.

I have a feeling that I'm going to be a net gain on Monday's weigh in. I have already had 2 green donuts and we're getting beer and pizza and watching basketball later here at work. I regret nothing. I am thinking that I should make a special trip to the gym this weekend though. We'll see if it happens.

I was definitely eating my feelings yesterday. Today started off okay - mango, banana, and spinach smoothie with small bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. Lunch was a ham and cheese sandwich, sweet potato chips, and 2 cuties. That was probably too much... and then some colleagues gave me a treat from the West Indian shop - OMG, fried bread and chickpea goodness (that was probably a million calories)!!!! And tonight I'm making St. Patty's shakes for DS and I (mint chip ice cream, milk, green dye, vanilla). I think I need a tapeworm or at the very least a stomach virus.

well, for whatever reason, the Chinese restaurant decided on tempura crab on the buffet instead of tempura veggies (so that was out) and my regular rice noodles with a little chicken and veggies was replaced by chicken chow mein (not awful) and in addition to having more shrimp dishes and mostly pork/beef options (with brown sauces, a no for me with the worry of oyster sauce, and I'm not asking at a busy buffet) I was pretty limited in what I took. but, because we went early to watch basketball, I was able to take my time more and let plate #1 settle before going back up. I took a healthy scoop of Shanghai greens both times (baby bok choy sauteed w/garlic) and had a couple chicken teriyaki skewers and a little each of chicken chow mein, veggie lo mein and pork fried rice between the two plates.
not awful, and definitely happy I packed a big salad with some cut-up chicken cutlet for dinner. woof.

I am doing well so far. Today leg lifts, front, back side, crunches, working on making the back strong. Ankle feels better but took a break 2 days from the exercycle and weights. Will try and start back on that tomorrow, great for stretching.
The back is feeling so much better and with either exercise or trace minerals or both leg cramps are gone.
None of this will help me to lose weight but it will tighten and smooth the muscles underneath.
We had veggie soup tonight, very very good.
I know what strong muscles can do, I hope this stops the need for any pain meds since it seems difficult to get any and I don't like taking them. I'm doing ok, probably a day when I can't, but so far so good.

Gosh my lower ab muscles and right under the rib cages in front were killing me today, I'm thinking crunches shouldn't do that. Then I thought back, well 20 for each side, then 20 leg lifts for each one, so really 80 pulls on the front side against those abs, no wonder I hurt. Part of those were the elbow to opposite knee with leg crosses so extra pull.
Oh well, continuing on, it will do me good.

Made horrendous food choices today, but not awful portions. Don't tell WW... and I haven't tracked anything since I went away, I'm starting fresh tomorrow. Good news is I was only up a half pound this morning from Monday morning before I went away, so that isn't bad.

wait a second, are you sore, or actually in pain? there's a distinct difference and you will do way more harm than good by forcing yourself to exercise either improperly or while you are injured. please take a minute to assess, and talk to your doctor if need be.

today was a pretty good day, actually. I'll avoid mentioning how large the shaker of cosmopolitans is, while I'm watching basketball as the rest of my house sleeps. roommate went out last night and woke up in some combination of hung over and actually sick (he added 5 blankets to his bed over last night) so he went back to bed when I was out shopping late morning and only woke up around 5. so I unpacked groceries and made myself a late breakfast, and then suited up the pups for a walk. we did an almost 3.5 mile loop, over off season train tracks, down and around where the awful house fire was yesterday, and then back home. and judging by how my feet have felt since, I definitely need to go to a store that fit you for runners. I haven't had the right fit since ASICS stopped making the cut that worked for me. the cuts I've worn since have been way better than other options, but still not quite right. do any of the rest of you have narrow feet? what brands of sneakers work for you? specifically, my heels are stupidly narrow. there are a few brands of regular shoes that cause me ankle pain for over compensation bc they are so loose.
