Based on the way I am feeling I am starting to look at what manufacturers of generics I have been getting based on where I fill my RX. I am going to go back to synthroid for sure.
Wellbutrin XL brand for 90 day supply without insurance is $6000. I am not kidding. What...that is just insane.

Also, check with the manufacturer. I get a discount on the copay for travatan-z, which is one of my glaucoma drops. I went to the Wellbutrin website, and the site said eligible patients may pay as little as $5 for a 30-day supply. It is worth checking out. link

MIL used to order meds from Canada. For some reason, she can't do that, and was trying to find a place in the US that was reasonably priced.. Target wanted hundreds for her meds. Costco wanted $60.
When I was undergoing treatment to get knocked up, the RE office (and ob/gyn's office) sent me to costco for trigger shots, because they were the cheapest around. IF is not covered under medical insurance in my state.

My DH gets his Xarelto medicine paid for by the manufacturer ultimately. He found out about it by the pharmacist. It saved us $90 a month.
He needed to call the manufacturer, answer a few questions, and he was given a discount card that he takes to the pharmacist. It was $5 a month the first year and now it's free.

WTH? Did this just recently change? My ex was on this and even without insurance it was about $2/pill. The generic has been out for a long time as well, so that's another option.
I'm lucky, the two scripts I take are so cheap that insurance never pays because it doesn't reach the $15/copay amount.

I think I must have heard him wrong. I was just seeing what manufacturer Walgreens uses, and thought I would ask while I was on the phone. I have insurance. I was just amazed.

Please note these price increases occurred under your man. As usual the Democrats believe in euthenazia without the needle. They just price everyone out of the cost of the medication. And I think you might be exaggerating on just passing due to the cost. In your case you have the money. To die rather than pay is unusual at best.

GoodRx.com is another site that has discount coupons, but you can not use your insurance card with the discount.

Discount coupons can be good, but double check them and be careful when using them. DH received coupons from his specialist last year for one of his inhalers. Without the coupon, our cost was $250. With the coupon our cost was $275. The pharmacist told us that adding in the coupon code moved the cost back to the regular cost rather than our insurance company's negotiated cost.
Needless to say, we didn't use the coupon.

I have found blink to be an alternative. I have one prescription that my insurance doesn't cover and it is only 5.46 through blink for the generic.

Arthrotec is a combo of Diclofenac and misoprostol. Both of these are inexpensive drugs individually. Why don't you just get your doctor to prescribe both and take 2 pills rather than one? It will do the same thing. You are paying for convenience.

I was asking what manufacturer Walgreens uses (par and Zydus) for their generic Wellbutrin, just for fun I asked how much a 90 day supply was that is when he said 6000. Then I thought I may have heard him wrong, now I realize I didn't. That is 66 per pill. Yikes !! I have Insurance so I am not paying that.

Correct, especially in light of the fact that the Big Pharma companies are yuge Trump lobbyists and advisors. I'm sure that they and their shareholders will gladly settle for far less money. --------------- But already the drug industry’s allies, including lobbyists and senior elected officials who have received hundreds of thousands of dollars in industry money, are taking on important roles in the transition and in work on the 2017 agenda. Vice President-elect Mike Pence’s political career, for example, has long been supported by pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly & Co., which is based in his home state of Indiana. The drug maker, through its political action committee and employees, is Pence’s third largest all-time political contributor, according to calculations by the independent Center for Responsive Politics. Other key figures in Trump’s circle of advisors have included a former executive at drug makers Pfizer and Celgene and the chairman of Williams & Jensen, a leading Washington lobbying firm. According to federal lobbying reports, Williams and Jensen’s clients in recent years have included 11 of the world’s largest drug makers, including Pfizer, Novartis, AstraZeneca, Merck and Bayer. www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-trump-drug-prices-20161115-story.html

From the same link....
And more than seven in 10 Americans favor allowing Americans to import less expensive drugs, according to the poll by the nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation. But the pharmaceutical industry has vigorously opposed such steps, calling drug importation unsafe and price negotiation unnecessary.

I have read that before, I will ask my doc about prescribing 2 separate instead, its $160 a month till I meet my deductible, that would get me down to $157 for my premarin, no ins will cover them But next year I may just take one of the cheapest script coverages, pointless to pay for nothing.
I'm thankful that we are healthy enough not to have to take a potful of drugs, I feel sorry for the folks that do.
