So Election night, MANY o' poster said they were going to sell most of their stock holdings, research moving to Canadia (just in case as a "backup" plan), etc. etc..... (that was a pretty fun night for me, I have to admit )
anyways- those of you that pulled the trigger and sold your stocks, are you still happy with your decision? I'm just curious.

I'm good. I've been selling on up swing, although realistically the gains have been somewhat localized. I should have held my CAT a little longer, but that's the nature and I'm ok. I'm about out now. I don't have much faith this will continue, if it does, I can live with it.

I'd have to see those posts to buy your claim (not to mention-5 or 6 doesn't equate to MANY). I recall some people were concerned and planning some financial readjustments but not MANY who were promising to jump ship for Canada.

I don't think I said I would sell off but I'm still worried about the future.
I can't leave my family so while I may have thought about moving to Canada, it's not an option at this point.

Peeps on this board were citing the futures self off that was occurring on election night as the crash / big reduction that would be hitting the market due to Trump..........

No, not here. The so-called celebrities who in their own minds think what they say or do matters. Then they found out it didn't matter to anyone. Surprise!!! Eat crow.

Agreed, you said folks were researching a move to Canada. However, you did indicate that MANY were doing this. That's quite an overstatement in and of itself. Hyperbole always draws my attention just as peoples' concerns about investments seems to draw yours.

See, I'm a back up what you say kind of guy. Kind of like the thread I tried on Trump doing 8 years bet thing. But I see how that went too
On election night, lots of peeps here had "the vapors" (as Miss Tequila so eloquently coined the phrase). It was doom and gloom (talk about hyperbole). People were going to sell (or majorly adjust their portfolios). I even remember someone talking about how they were probably going to have to cancel their vacation and being glad a friend or some relative had a camper they could probably borrow instead.....like I said it was quite amusing......So now I just want to know who actually pulled the trigger and how they feel about their decision. Not sure why that is so controversial....if you weren't one of these peeps just move along and ignore the thread......I'm just curious who actually sold

Or maybe she's just saying that all the people who made certain to publicly threaten to move to Canada should keep their word? I wouldn't mind it in the least if Al Sharpton moved to Canada. After he pays his outstanding tax bill, though. I also wouldn't miss Lena Dunham, Chelsea Handler (or whatever her name is), Miley Cyrus, or George Lopez. Don't really watch much of any of them. Stopped watching The Voice because I just couldn't look at good ole Miley after her breakdown. Not someone I think should be model for young 'uns. Not interested in only having folks with my same view point around, just interested in people doing what they say they're going to do.

Well, I find it difficult to judge whether or not he has kept his word yet as he hasn't even been sworn in. While I don't hold out high hopes that he will keep ALL his campaign promises (I don't know of a single President who has), I guess I'll just have to wait and see how many he DOES keep over the next four years.

The wall in all its grandeur Trump promised his supporters (who gobbled it up) is not going to be built and Mexico is not going to pay for it. As it is and according to polls, the majority of U.S. citizens along the border cities don't want any wall built. "The Dallas Morning News, Cronkite News, and Univision News partnered together to conduct a series of surveys in fourteen cities along both sides of the U.S. and Mexico border. Of the 1,427 residents asked whether they believed the U.S. should build a wall along the border, 65 percent of people on the U.S. side and 75 percent on the Mexico side voted “should definitely not.” Only 14 percent of residents in U.S. border towns and 5 percent of residents in their Mexico “sister cities” voted “definitely should.” " Not Many People On The Border Really Want Donald Trump’s Wall

Not too surprised by those percentages. Surprised it is not even higher. What is the percentage of Mexican Nationals, or heritage on the south side of the border? Kind of surprised south of the border is only 75% and not, say 98% What is the percentage of Mexican nationals, or heritage on the north side of the border in the cities? DAH!
