11:10am (Texas time) (Wed.) 23 Nov.2016
Ratchets, scanning thru some posts this morning ( a few minutes ago), I stumbled across this one .... brought back some memories. Be glad to share a few stories with you .... (about sobriety, etc.). I'm assuming you know Dr.Bob and Bill Wilson ( weren't they the 2 guys that started AA. If you just had your one year ...... I have you beat by a little. I post ( for a long time ) on the stock market contest board. And even not knowing your age ..... I know I'm much older than you. Looking forward to hearing from you. Architecto25
Congratulations on your "1 year"

architecto25, my sense of this is that it is an attempt at a joke. I congratulate you on your one day at a time victory. We should honor those who are fighting this battle.

I'm not sure how to read this, but if you are truly celebrating a year of sobriety congratulations!

I'm not sure how to read this, but if you are truly celebrating a year of sobriety congratulations! Are you sober 1 year as of today or as of 1978? Either way, congrats.

In "ratchetese" it states he is celebrating today the fact that he was sober all of some random year in the past (the "I think" indicates he is not sure which year it is he was actually sober and thus currently celebrating).

Dude. 1978 was not the year to be sober. Disco was in full swing. Leisure suits and open-chested medallions were all the rage. And rampant body hair on both genders served to maximize one's sex appeal. Plus, how could you expect to lure an unsuspecting lady into the back of your graphic-bedecked van without the offer of coke or at least a quaalude or two (whatever those were)? I feel for you, bro.

I think he means he's been sober 365 days total since 1978. That would make sense.
