I wonder if some of you would agree to take a break from phony scandals and step out of the liberal echo-chamber to discuss the most important policy speech in generations- maybe the most important policy proposals since Reconstruction. If you didn't watch- it's worth watching (starts at roughly 1:36:00) especially if you have been in the habit of tuning out all things Trump. It will help you understand why Trump is winning. The question on the table is-- pick your favorite, and explain why you love it, OR pick your least favorite and explain what you disagree with, and how you would improve upon it: assets.donaldjtrump.com/CONTRACT_FOR_THE_VOTER.pdf

FIRST, propose a Constitutional Amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress;
Limits my right to decide who will represent me. Increases the power and influence of congressional staff and bureaucrats.

SECOND, a hiring freeze on all federal employees to reduce federal workforce through attrition (exempting military, public safety, and public health);Too blunt of a concept. Targeted cuts make more sense.

THIRD,a requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated;Just reduce unneeded regulations. Don't play a silly numbers game.

FOURTH, a 5 year-ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service; "Lobbyists" too vague a term. Questionable legality.

Increases the power and influence of congressional staff and bureaucrats. Term limits have been terrible for the state of Michigan--bunch of morons in the legislature now.

i watched the first 45 minutes. the first 40 were the best, and then came the introduction and Donald talking.
he sucks at reading the teleprompter, so i got as far as him explaining that he never wanted to be in politics.
that's great, because he sucks at politics. he can go back to doing something he is better at, like shilling products.

Like Trump himself, BEGGING for foreign money for his elections, until the foreign governments told him to pi$$ off and stop bothering them. Talk about hypocrisy! No doubt Richard will find a way to excuse this behaviour, but he's not a Trump supporter. Nosiree, Bob!

Donald Trump’s campaign has been asking foreign politicians for donations to help make America great again – possibly violating federal election rules in the process. On Wednesday, two campaign finance watchdog groups, the Campaign Legal Center and Democracy 21, said they will lodge a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) alleging that Trump’s campaign has violated federal law by soliciting donations from politicians in Scotland, Australia and Iceland, among others. “Donald Trump should have known better,” said Paul S Ryan, deputy executive director of Campaign Legal Center. “It is a no-brainer that it violates the law to send fundraising emails to members of a foreign government on their official foreign government email accounts, and yet, that’s exactly what Trump has done repeatedly.” www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jun/29/trump-campaign-donations-foreign-politicians

I found my way out. I agree with some of the points. They have been presented many times over the years by other people. Trump did a good job reading someones else's words about things he would never do. In fact he has been guilty of some of these things. He buys Chinese steel putting USA steel workers out of jobs. He manufactures products over seas. He hires foreigners.

Once upon a time, there was such a thing as the Gettysburg Address.
Trump has turned it into the Gettysburg Redress.
"I'll sue you and you and anyone who has ever accused me of anything!"
Pitiful.

Some years ago, Mr Trump invited me to lunch for a one-to-one meeting at his apartment in Manhattan. We had not met before and I accepted. Even before the starters arrived he began telling me about how he had asked a number of people for help after his latest bankruptcy and how five of them were unwilling to help. He told me he was going to spend the rest of his life destroying these five people.
He didn’t speak about anything else and I found it very bizarre. I told him I didn’t think it was the best way of spending his life. I said it was going to eat him up, and do more damage to him than them. There must be more constructive ways to spend the rest of your life. (Hopefully my advice didn’t lead to him running for President. -Richard Branson www.virgin.com/richard-branson/meeting-donald-trump

FIFTH, I will lift the restrictions on the production of $50 trillion dollars’ worth of job-producing American energy reserves, including shale, oil, natural gas and clean coal.I think so of the restrictions are sound and not sure that a blanket lifting of them all wouldn't create a glut in the market and depress things more than improve them.

SIXTH, lift the Obama-Clinton roadblocks and allow vital energy infrastructure projects, like the Keystone Pipeline, to move forwardNot sure what the "Clinton" roadblocks are but I know that there are some courts involved in many cases which makes lift a little heavy.

SEVENTH, cancel billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs and use the money to fix America’s water and environmental infrastructure How many of these payments are the result of legislative action and how much freedom does he have to do this without consent of the legislative branch?
