... Look at Nancy Pelosi, arguably the worst, most corrupt, Senator in the building. ... she is a Representative My bad. I actually thought she was a Rep at first, but then thought... noooo... she' couldn't be that well known and just a Rep. Fair enough. I'll go change my statement. Nancy Pelosi, arguably the worst, most corrupt, Representative in the building. (I noticed that you didn't argue with my other descriptors of her though... ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png)   ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png)

Look where she's from and who she "represents." Hmmm.. When did Nancy Pelosi become a senator? Did she replace Feinstein or Boxer? I made a boo-boo. I freely admit it. (see... I do admit when I'm wrong! {let the fainting begin...})

Wow. Tough room tonight.
"Just a Rep" was comparing Representatives to Senators. Not chairs or committees or positions they hold in their respective houses.
I don't know about anyone else, but I know of more Senators by name than Representatives. Of the two houses the Senate also wields the most power... that's where "just a Rep" came from.
Now that it was mentioned I do remember her being SotH (vaguely).

I'll have nightmares Well, it appears unlikely, right now, that the Dems will retake the House. But there is still 3 weeks for Trump to continue his attacks on the GOP.

I am interested in examining the corruption of the "most corrupt Representative". Does anyone know what it entailed?

We just need to Google it
Well I sure did that because I wouldn't want any lies, untruths, or questionable facts to pollute this thread.
Guess what? I found many lists that had many members, both Repo and Demo, and did not find Nancy Pelosi. A woman from Cali was mentioned, but not Nancy.
If it's not too much to ask perhaps the poster that made that claim would post something that would allow an examination therein.

If you follow to his profile on that link, you see that he was also named to the "Most Corrupt" list in 2007, 2008, and 2009. And no, Pelosi was not listed in any of those years either.

Exactly my point. Let's get away from Hillary and Donald... Look at Nancy Pelosi, arguably the worst, most corrupt, Senator in the building. Everyone knows this EXCEPT her constituents... who presumably also have internet and cable and radio and newspaper and talk at the water-cooler... yet they can't figure out what the whole rest of the country knows. Look where she's from and who she "represents." She's from America and she represents Americans. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png)

Didn't make THAT list (and I did say "arguably"). She did however make this list (which isn't limited to Representatives only): Judicial Watch's Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians” for 2010

I heard it quite often in bad deals, bad ideas, bad political moves, and bad policies. So yes, vaguely remember her being SotH... but clearly recall her being corrupt and one of the worst ever.

First on the Google results page for me. Google "Pelosi Corrupt List" yourself if you'd like a better link. My results page was full of links to lists with her on them.

The real question presented to you was what the corruption actually is/was.
As far as google....I googled most corrupt Representatives vs. your choice to feed it specifics on Pelosi. She was on none of the numerous lists.

In truth though, I think the harder they fall, the quicker they'll be back. 1. Hard truths breed introspection and change. 2. Power breeds arrogance and corruption. If the Dems DID manage to really consolidate power they would soon become tiresome too. Yes, I agree. If democrats continue to dominate national politics, that means they'll be held accountable when things go wrong. A national crises, a economic down turn. The burden of having the power is you will get blamed when things go wrong.
In short, you can't blame Bush anymore when bad stuff happens.....

Nixon resigned and I'm sure everyone thought that would be it for the republican party, but they bounced back in less than 10 years.
4-8 years is an eternity in national politics. No one will care about this election in 4-8 years. Hell, I doubt anyone will care in the mid terms. The GOP has won the last three mid terms, so I would expect them to take back the Senate, if they lose it.

It's not "blame Bush when bad stuff happens." It is, "Blame Bush for the continuing negative effects of all the stupid stuff he did." That IS legitimate.

I agree with a lot of that Phoenix. People will care about this election though, I believe. People (at least Dems) still remember the election of 1972 and the drubbing they took. They also remember the fractured party that led up to that election. I have a feeling the Trump wave will be remembered for a long, long time. I agree. I think the GOP will have to regroup and consider their best way forward, and how to reduce the chances of having this happen again.
Obama has said he plans to make gerrymandering his post - POTUS focus, and I think this is fabulous. www.politico.com/story/2016/10/obama-holder-redistricting-gerrymandering-229868
While the GOP may want to cobble voting districts together to maximize the number of GOP voters, in order to ensure wins, that also makes each election not about two party candidates, but about several candidates of the GOP attempting to be the most far right wing candidate possible. It makes it possible to elect such far right congressmen that they think shutting down government completely is better than working across the aisle to get anything done.
The GOP would be better off competing in mixed districts against Dem candidates where the GOP candidate with the broadest appeal to all voters wins, not just in local elections, but on the national state. The GOP needs to un-gerrymander all the funky districts, learn to embrace diversity and put together good fiscally conservative platforms that will appeal to most of us if they want to avoid the embarrassment of letting the clown seize control of the big top.

This chart can't be right. Where is the big slice of the pie for social services given to illegal immigrants and welfare queens? Isn't that what's sinking the ship of state

Once again we are seeing that the deficit hawks and their whining supplicants on the right have voted for a regime that has made the deficit go nuts but obamaobamaobamaobama.
