Arch enemy tweeted a PGP code on his Twitter account-why? I sort of get that PGP code is encrypting something but what was he encrypting and why. Or was he tweeting someone else's code? Seriously messed up dude and heavily armed person with incredible paranoia issues and I really need to know what he's up to for personal safety reasons. This is far beyond my tech parameters so I'm glad for you folks.

Sorry to answer your original question... here's an explanation of PGP Code... www.pgpi.org/doc/pgpintro/I think the real answer is, unless you hold a key, you aren't going to know what it says. Dang if I had come across that link first I wouldn't have to post my other reply. I clicked on a few links earlier and my eyes glazed over and I headed to the nearest bar!! This link does explain it in somewhat easier laymen's terms so to speak.  |

I think I'm missing some of the back story here. Why are you following your arch enemy on twitter? Why is he your arch enemy? Are you concerned he's coming after you? He was formerly involved with the HOA I am officer of. Failed in run for local political office and now crazed critic of ALL governmental entities and community efforts not lead by him. He is widely considered to be mentally unstable and known for bizarre conspiracy theories. Most people keep an eye on his doings online for safety reasons. Hold your friends close and your enemies closer. |

You got far enough through the MEGO stuff to grock the public key/private key bit, right? Or maybe you already knew that.
I used to spend a lot of time around a nice, quite lefty, PGP evangelist. (Okay, it was 20 years ago.) I never took his exhortations to spread this encryption technology very seriously, but he might have been onto something about privacy.
