I saw this advertised on TV and thought it was neat.
I would think about this for the g-grands but they have so much junk already it would get lost in the shuffle.
Maybe I should get a set for one of the shelter kids at Christmas.
That's an idea
Maybe by the Christmas season this will be in some of the specialty stores.

It's been on one of th shopping networks I think. Qvc probably. Check the "seen on tv" display in stores like target, Walmart, bed bath and beyond and others.

I'm actually going to buy the Nintendo game console that resurrects about 16 games (I think) from my son's childhood. I think it will be a great bonding experience to play Super Mario Brothers and Legend of Zelda, etc. together with his four kids. My son can show his sons all the "cheats." I may actually buy one for me, too, and get rid of the Wii that I bought for the grandkids. The new console is only $55. Difference is that I will still buy individual presents as well. Gifts for kids are relatively cheap if you don't let their expectations get out of hand. I should add, "Or their parents'." My DIL suggested a $90 "toy" that was basically a stroller (he sits in a seat, it has a handle, it has a giant pocket for mom and a bottle holder, etc.) He was going to be three. How much longer does the kid stay in a stroller? Plus, she had mega-strollers already. I worked at her garage sale where she was trying to sell at least three of them. I bought a $20 truck he wanted instead.

I would like your review on how the tracks fit together and the whole thing works. I have bad memories of toy trains where the train could not make the turn on the track leaving crying kids and exasperated parents. I have had to learn my lesson on this about every 15 years.

I'm a bad Grandma. My granddaughter gets an occasional book or music CD. Her parents live in a small house and she already gets plenty of stuff from an Aunt and Uncle who can't have children, and her mother keeps her clothed in adorable things from the second-hand store. Oh, yeah- and we add to her 529 account! Still, I must be doing something right. Last time I left she threw a tantrum.

And our kids will be at some point, too.

And our kids will be at some point, too. I wish this is the path my children would choose, but you saw the post about the $90 stroller. Most of the grandkids get $20 gifts. The oldest gets better ones because he is older. He got $50 toward the D.C. trip he was taking and then $100 at Christmas toward the same trip plus some books he wanted. My oldest granddaughter simply gets to go shopping, which ends up being about $100. She's eight. It sounds extravagant, but it trickles down three sisters plus her mom buys very few play outfits since she wears uniforms to school. Every casual picture I saw last year had one of our outfits. We take two of the others shopping, but they still want toys so they have to play with the $20 - $30 limit. My mother-in-law used to take my daughter birthday shopping. She'd spend a few hundred on her. My son wanted a video game. She'd spend $50. History does repeat itself. I still contribute to my grandkids' 529 accounts for birthdays and Christmas, but nothing like Athena does. There is one of hers vs. nine of mine!
