Holy crap. I fell down the stairs (from 2nd floor to 1st floor) 3 weeks ago and hit every freakin' step on the way down.....FF 2 weeks l8r and I went to the doctor because my nagging injuries I thought something might could be broken. They weighed me in as part of the appointment...holy freakin' cow, no way do I weigh that much .........
Finally got the results, no broken bones or anything and I been easing back into exercise and eating better (only carbs I am eating are fruit and veggies except for at my dinner meal, then I only eat ONE serving of a starch)......
Just needed to rant.....anyone else getting back into fitness/ eatin' better?

oh sure of course for me it's always been a on and off and back on and back off and back on and back off and on and off and back on and off and on again routine for exercising and reduced eating. so I am currently back on because of this excessive heat outside. I walked out to the car and was sweating bullets! I walk around at work; also taking the stairs all day everyday and I am sweating. Funny - I thought this was because I am so out of shape from not exercising!

Swamp's a badass who is making the rest of us look bad. It's an ongoing process. Some bumps along the way, but overall have been living a healthier and more active lifestyle. Glad you weren't seriously hurt during your speedy trip to the bottom of the stairs!

main thing hurt was my pride....in the old days I would have jumped right up and walked it off.....I was down on the ground for a few minutes....
but I am recovering. I ran 20 minutes at a slow pace (11 min miles)...slowly but surely.....and now that I know nothing is broken I have a massage scheduled for next week!

Swamp makes me look like a whimp but I will solo hike in Provence October 17-25. Nothing like she does but good for me.

I'm warring against the belly, also. It's not like I'm not exercising in the gym 3x a week and tennis several times a week plus golf. I slacked off the cardio because of plantar faciatis for a year.
The problem is M&Ms go well with Olympics watching. Chips and a book. Licorice and watching tennis tournaments live in real time. I can go on and on with pairings. The results are out in front in the photos.
I looked at Dr. Oz's new body type replacing apple, pear, banana, etc. I could not find a link for you. Ab fat is from stress. Meditation 2x per day is recommended.
I'm with you. I visualize what I want when I go to sleep. That used to work when I was young. I'll see how it works now.

Baby steps.....

For those fighting the belly, have you tried planks? That worked best for me. I only do one minute, 3-4 times a week. (I also do other exercise, but that for belly!)

I have been pretty steady through most of the summer, but have decided it's time to kick it up a notch going into the fall. Lifting 3 days a week, walking fast for the other 3. I even bought some new running shoes to keep me motivated. I hit the weights extra hard on Monday and am feeling the after effects today. It's leg day so I need to get fired up before I get there.

Well now I notice crap is literally pouring out of me
Since I started back running everyday, I notice I go to the bathroom more
Also I stopped drinking diet coke, and this is day 4 of that, so wondering if they are connected (I used to drink like 7 to 8 cans of diet coke a day )
So is this pooping some normal adjustment due to running again and/ or stopping my diet coke habit?

For the twenty years I was in the navy, I think putting on my uniform was my daily reminder for weight control. Once I retired, I was shocked several years later when I realized I had put some weight on.
So, for me, I now weigh myself every morning, and that takes the place of the military uniform (when it was tight, I would be careful with my eating). I am now the same weight I was on my first military ID, and with daily weigh-ins, don't expect that will change.
