i'm holding off on adding other mods for now, until we get final word on whether the other boards are staying or going. and once we know that, I am thinking of letting users vote in other mods.. that way it's more fair - no one can say i'm playing favorites, you know?

Either way, even if the EE board stays open, this is a great place as an alternate for posting things that are of more interest to our group in general. Plus we have a bit more 'freedom' to post more personal type messages back & forth as a group without disrupting other conversations there or getting off-topic.
There's a lot of people over on EE that aren't here, and it would keep their board open for the more msn-style postings.
As far as adding volunteer mods, I think it would be wise to wait a while until people are more settled in, and then there might be some kind of nomination process and people can decide whether they want to 'run' as an assistant mod and some sort of voting process take place....but that's something to consider farther down the road.

I just read the SJ drama threads on EE and YM. I agree with
tall_guy in that its probably best to not reply to SJ's posts
on the MSN boards as no good comes of feeding a drama troll.

I did think it was funny that he sees EEers using the
phrase "sacred temple" as a great accomplishment.
I really wonder what made him think that the posters
here would like profanity for the sake of profanity.

That's why my suggestion was that if Moonbeam wants or needs to add more mods later on down the road, a nomination process could take place and if a person is nominated then they can either accept or decline running in an election by members.
