I'm watching her speech. I'd like to know if she can make it through the evening without melting down. Will she have a seizure? Will she have a crippling coughing fit? Will she screech like Nurse Ratched? Will she bark like a dog? There WILL be booing. It's GOING to happen-- will it be audible in the coverage? Uncertain. But I put at 50/50 the chances that they up and lose control of the convention tonight...

He has already said that if he is elected he will step aside and let his (poorly selected) minions do the work running the country. Probably because he will be to busy spending his time trying to find ways to make money off the presidency. Seriously, what sort of "business man" works so hard to get a lesser paying job?

I have a good conservative friend who is so torn at the moment... Because her father worked construction for Trump casinos in NJ... And she was telling me way before the primary ended how he stiffed everyone on those jobs...

Trump is running scared. "We want you to not watch the speech but call her out on her lies and fight back against her nasty attacks." "But how will we know what those lies and nasty attacks are if we don't watch?" "Don't worry. We will tell you what they are." The reason for the Trump tweet is even more juvenile than you offered. The DNC is beating the RNC in the TV ratings. "Don't watch Hillary because she is beating me in the ratings. And if you don't watch Thursday, I might win the overall ratings war." Democrats continue to top Republicans in convention ratings

Lol!
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at the Democratic National Convention: “Hello, everyone. I’m Michael Jordan, and I'm here with Hillary.
I said that because I know that Donald Trump couldn’t tell the difference.”

Asking America to trust you with the future—let me ask, have you even read the United States Constitution. I will gladly lend you my copy. Look for the word liberty and equal protection of the law. Have you ever been to Arlington Cemetery to look at the graves of brave patriots who died defending the United States of America? You will see all faiths, genders and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing.”Boom! also last line of the article: Fox News reportedly declined to air the speech. If you're a republican voter who doesn't like the source, then find your own since Fox refused to carry it. Watch the speech before you comment.

I'm interested in the rights reaction to the speech. She didn't lose it or go crazy on stage (not that I expected she would as she's nothing if not a consummate politician.) But I've long wondered if we are watching the same convention as some other posters.

As a young woman whose 1st ever vote in a Presidential election voted for Bill Clinton...As a daughter of a very strong woman who raised 3 children on her own after a divorce, without child support, and worked 2-3 jobs to support us...As a child who a couple of times was on food stamps due to our situation, specifically the oil crash in 86...As a teenager who had to make a choice regarding my body, my decision, my best interest...I sat here and did a really ugly cry thru her speech. It's history whether you like her or not. The first woman nominated by a major party. The first woman to have a real chance to become our President. As a woman, I'm so proud right now I can't decide if I'm going to burst or curl up in the fetal position and cry for all the women who struggled, worked hard & even died for us.
I'm with her!

Definitely not trump but I don't really like her either. I liked her speech well enough but pretty much rolled my eyes and tuned her out once she started getting into more specific policies I'm not the aligned with at the end. Didn't really pay attention again until the balloons fell.

Well, there was some booing and anti-war chanting... And I would argue the balloons were pretty out of control...

I'm with her.
Stronger Together.
I struggled when Sanders was out of the race. I was wanting Sanders to take it but part of me knew he didn't have a chance. But, after her speech tonight there wasn't one thing I couldn't agree with her. The United States needs a Woman President and it's about time it happens. And what I liked about her speech was she actually told us how she was going to do it. Everything she wants to happen in the United States I want to see happen.
One person can't make it happen. And, I know some will be empty "promises" but I believe she'll try even when she's being defeated. What she's done for woman and disabled students, what she's shown me she can do makes me believe she may not be able to accomplish everything she's saying she wants to but she's a fighter and she'll try even when people are beating her down.
She is standing for what I stand for. I can't say I trust her 100 percent but I don't trust any politician 100 percent. And I always try to remember it isn't only her making rules and regulations. She can try and try and get knocked down over and over again as all Presidents have because it's not just the President with power. Her power is limited.
And in my opinion she is so much more qualified then Trump. Trump who I've seen on many accounts bully minorities and Trump who has stiffed the little guy as many people have come out over the years saying that he's stiffed them. Employee's that no longer work for him often say he doesn't treat them well. The ones that often say he's a good employer are the ones that work for him. He talks about jobs in America but sends jobs to Turkey, China, Japan, Mexico.
I know Clinton has some shady past history but as does every person that has been President.
But from what I know and what she has accomplished I believe she will do good for the United States. I believe in what she says even if parts of it aren't exactly her. But I support the cause she's announcing.
But she has fought the good fight for many years with many people and that's far more then Trump can say. Her speech in China on woman helped change many world views on woman's roles in the world, not just the United States. She's helped in the Pediatric Research Equity Act. 8 million children, helped gain them healthcare. Making it certain that EVERY child with a disability have equal opportunity to an education (which is just huge for me. this is so important in my eyes. i can never thank her enough for fighting for this right for these children.), and the list can go on... She is literally one of the MOST accomplished people to ever run for the President.
So all negatives aside. I'm putting faith into her positives for I can find none that Trump has accomplished. And I can't stand with such a clear bigoted man that is irrational and quick to anger. The thought of him having access to nuclear weapons is something I can't even fathom. Trump brings out the bigot thoughts in people and helps to enact these bigoted thoughts into actions. He uses fear to scare people.
I'm with her and We are stronger together. It's not only Hillary Clinton's fight to keep this Country afloat, it's everyone's fight.

I need to correct myself. I did miss some of the speech she made as I was in and out of the room. There has been things in the past I don't agree with in regards to Clinton. But what I heard tonight I'm certainly for. But I can't say the entire speech as I hadn't heard it all.
But to be honest. I don't think there is ever going to be a politician i'll 100 percent agree with. I was a huge Bernie Sanders supporter. I felt the BERN. And, I didn't even agree with all he said. I feel like that is common with most people and candidates though. It's finding common ground with a candidate and issues you agree with and having to just step aside some of the issues you don't like and figure out what's most important in the ending.

You are unlikely to get brutal honesty from anyone in power whether they are in the management team of your company, a politician or a marketer. Beware craving the appearance of brutal honesty over actual honesty itself. Yes it would be nice if speeches were designed to say what the issues are and then how we are going to get past them, but how likely is that?
Rational? What this election cycle has shown me is how irrational and led by emotion most voters are.
Ah.

Typical Trump MO - take credit for stuff that goes well even if you didn't have much to do with it, distance yourself when shit goes wrong even if you were totally responsible.
Apparently, he's pissed that the DNC went off so well and had so many high caliber speakers while he couldn't even get the ex-GOP presidents to make an appearance at his.
