I need to send live video over the phone for DD wedding. Can you tell me about facetime or similar programs? How do they work?

Facetime and Skype are the ones I know. FaceTime is free with other FaceTime users, just set up an account and it will work with your IPhone. I do believe it's a IPhone app only. Skype can be used if the other person has Skype as well for video. Just download the apps and set up the account.

We tried Skyping and Facetiming ODS while he was away at college. Both are very dependent upon the cellphone signal strength/wifi strength both for the sending video and the receiving video.
For a one time event such as a wedding, you'll want to do a few test runs to make sure the signal/wifi strength is strong. And, if using wifi, ask other attendees to stay off of their phones while the video is in progress.
We watched some of ODS' lacrosse games via live stream over the Internet. I am certain that such video is run through the school's network somehow, but I could be wrong. There may or may not be professional photographers with live streaming capability.
Another option is to set up a plain old video camera and let it run and then email the video to everyone and/or put it up on Facebook or a YouTube channel.
And YM, of course, LOL!! (J/K)
