The GOP adopted its most anti-LGBT platform in history at its party convention this week in Cleveland. It advocates going back to defining marriage, legally, as between one man and one woman. It supports adoption agencies that refuse to serve same-sex couples; affirms “conversion therapy,” a discredited practice of trying to turn gay people into straight people; calls for banning transgender people from using bathrooms that match their gender identity and endorses controversial legislation that would allow taxpayer-funded discrimination against same-sex married couples in the name of religious freedom. www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/gop-lgbt-platform_us_5790f273e4b0bdddc4d3718e

... if he is in trouble in Utah....UTAH.....wow. If there is any state population which would struggle looking the other way when it comes to the life that Donald Trump has lead and the way he deals with the world. it makes perfect sense to me that it would the population of Utah.

Trump leads by double figures. however, Johnson is about as close to Clinton as she is to Trump, so it MIGHT get interesting. and it might not. candidly, i think Clinton has way better odds in Arizona.

Yeah, cat memes are far more important than actually looking at Hillary's record and character. Sure.

Nobody has said that, but not surprising that you can't focus on a real issue.

Well, you're half-right. Clinton has more and more relevant experience (along with George H. W. Bush and Richard Nixon) than anyone who has been a nominee in the last fifty years.

More experience at getting away with breaking the law, lying under oath, failing at her duties of public trust, and being a crappy civil servant? If that's what you meant... yup... I agree. She does have "more and more relevant experience". And it's exactly that "experience" that makes her both undeserving and unqualified... Almost (but not quite) as undeserving and unqualified as Trump (he's undeserving and unqualified for different but almost equally and almost as troubling reasons)

RCP's map now shows Clinton winning: www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/2016_elections_electoral_college_map.htmli think this is a very conservative map, which is why i don't like to use it. for example, they show MO, GA, and AZ as "tossup". i don't think they are tossups. i think they are "in play, if Trump performs as badly over the next 3 months as he has over the last 3 weeks". otherwise, i would categorize those as "leans Republican". on the other side of the coin, i don't think it makes any sense to categorize WI and MI as "leans Democrat". they are solidly Democrat. i would stake 8:1 odds that Clinton wins both. i would also categorize NH and NV as "leans Democrat". but they are weaker leaners. the remaining (4) states are true tossups: IA, OH, NC, and FL. of these four, i think that Trump is most likely to prevail in IA and NC. his numbers are good there, and the demographics favor him. the opposite is true in OH and FL. the demographics and polling favor Clinton. unfortunately for Trump, he has to win all (4) of those, plus NV and NH to ascend to the presidency. in the latter state, he is trailing by double digits. there are only (3) polls in the last (2) months that show him competitive there, and they are extremely low quality polls. the best quality poll shows him down (15). still, i rate his odds of winning there slightly better than winning the GE: 3:7. if he works his ass off, and straightens out his game, he could pull it off. here is the unfortunate part for Trump: i can't remember a (2) week stretch where he didn't screw something up in the last YEAR.

i thought it was only me that saw this:
Clinton campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri responded with a statement early Wednesday accusing Trump of being the bigot instead.
"With each passing Trump attack, it becomes clearer that his strategy is just to say about Hillary Clinton what's true of himself. When people started saying he was temperamentally unfit, he called Hillary the same. When his ties to the Kremlin came under scrutiny, he absurdly claimed that Hillary was the one who was too close to Putin. Now he's accusing her of bigoted remarks -- We think the American people will know which candidate is guilty of the charge," she said.
and yeah, she works for the Clinton campaign. acknowledged. but i noticed it, too.

Well, that 'I am rubber and you are glue, whatever bounces off me sticks to you' defense worked well in 3rd grade, right? Stands to reason it ought to be successful for Trump.
Maybe he'll use the 'nana nana boo boo' defense during the debates.

given that he speaks to his audiences with an average of 7th grade grammar, it is little wonder. note: that is a jab, but it is one of the most effective parts of his campaign. it is what marketers do. he is a good marketer.

I wonder how much is clever marketing to his audience and how much is just not having a good vocabulary and writing skills?
The man never reads books, and no doubt has a staff of people to write all his documents for him. IMHO, vocabulary and writing skills are things you lose if you don't use. (That's why my spelling skills suck so much, too many years relying on spellcheck).
So I'm betting his sixth grade level speeches are 50% clever marketing, 25% poor vocabulary and writing skills, and 25% refusal to read off a teleprompter because talking out of your ass is so much more entertaining, even if it means you talk in word salad.
