I realize I had forgotten how much listening to Star 99.1, a Christian radio station, kept me upbeat. It does not totally align with my beliefs, but it is a positive station with uplifting stories and music versus downer stuff.
I found one of the songs I like hearing when crap is hitting the fan professionally or personally. Or both.

Tomorrow the sun will rise and will be a new day! Things will be better! That just about does it for me or at list did it so far. But I'm an optimist and can't be mad for more than a few minutes after which laughter ensues! There is another weird litle thing. First time at sea( use to be a sailor! ) when I entered my cabin, there was something written on the mirror with red marker: " Don't worry, be happy!" Every time I run into something that feels like bad and I mean BAD, I remember about that mirror!

I don't have too many bad days/times but when I do I either call my best friend and vent or I go out in my garden and watch the wildlife, work in the garden/smell the flowers, admire the green grass, bright sunshine, antics of the birds and squirrels, admire how the pond glistens in the sun, I listen to music... If things are really crappy I just drink. Not until drunk but just enough to get that warm fuzzy feeling and forget all the assholes in the world. There are a lot of assholes in the world so stock up.

I'm really not a positive person, I just soldier on.
It depends on what's going on as to how I deal with it. Sometimes, it helps me to write down a narrative about a situation and not hold anything back. Leave it for a day or two and go back and look at it objectively. Sometimes I'll see that what's bothering me isn't really the problem, the real problem is something else I've been avoiding dealing with and nonproblem is just how I'm misdirecting my energy to continue avoidance.
Other times, I'll take the dogs up into the mountains. My old dog can barely walk, but he gets so excited to smell new stuff in the forest. And the girl dog has a blast chasing squirrels. It's tough to stay down completely when you're faced with two slobbery, panting, ecstatically happy fur faces.

Thanks all. I love walking in nature but its high pollen season which is one of the reasons I am so sick.
Found a video I want to send my almost second husband. We haven't been together in 15 years, however we still chat on the phone. I saw him in person maybe about a year and a half ago in Princeton.

When needed, I find solace in what I love. My dog, my family, my friends...something as simple as a good book and a hot bath. It doesn't make bad stuff go away. It just brings all my blessings to the forefront.

I just focus on today. How do i make today better? Today, maybe i will try a new recipe or go out and work on my landscaping watching my new puppy frolic around or things like that. We can all get overwhelmed in life if we think of What ifs and worst case scenarios.

reread her (TT's) old threads? Actually that might be fun. How do you search for them, just tough times?

I saved this video. My 35th wedding anniversary is tomorrow. I had been feeling there was not much to celebrate. The video pretty much sums things up.

I read an article written by a man who tragically lost a child. One thing he did is put a happiness word collage on his bathroom mirror to read daily. He has happiness seminars for forming a happiness habit to be pursued daily.
