Anyone follow Supernatural? I was satisfied with last night's episode. They are starting to close some loopholes in the story line. About damn time! I knew Chuck was God! I knew Chuck was God! I knew Chuck was God! It's sad how vindicated I felt when they revealed the truth.

I really enjoy this show. (I love me some Crowley. )
A couple of years ago, I binge-watched all the seasons that were currently out, but I'm now about 4 episodes behind. I limit my TV to a couple of hours after the kids are in bed at night, so I can't keep up.

I got pissed starting at Season 6 all the way up to the current season. I've been invested in the show since the beginning so I haven't given up but man have I been tempted to check out.
I read they brought in new writers after Season 5 so that's probably why it seems like Season 1-5 were one show and Seasons 6-9 were a completely different show.
Could have done without the soul-less Sam, the Leviathans and Purgatory.
This season seems to be bringing the show back around to the original story arc. I was satisfied that they closed up several plot holes with this episode.
DH and I have been debating how the show will end. DH says they have to give Sam and Dean a happy ending. I suggested maybe they die and are reunited with their parents, Bobby and all the other people they lost along the way in Heaven. That would be a happy ending to me.

I just started watching...2 different seasons on 2 different channels. What happened to Trenchcoat Guy? He walked into the lake and I never saw him again. He was hot.

I'm pretty sure you are talking about Castiel?
Dork that I am I believe you are watching the season with the Leviathans and this is yet another time the Winchesters think he's dead.
He comes back and they devote a crapton of time to him in the upcoming seasons.
I feel like his character sucked after they finished the apocalypse story line. Hoping he gets more interesting again before the series wraps up.

I stopped watching during season 6. I was SO annoyed. If it is getting back to the original story then maybe I will start watching again. I really enjoyed the first few years.

The series was supposed to end at Season 5 but it was so popular and the ratings were so high for the "final" episode they decided to keep going.
It was like they they did such a good job of binding the storyline together from the pilot to Season 5 finale there was no where for the show to go.
If you skip Seasons 6-8 and then jump to Cain's appearance in Season 9 the show flows a lot better.
Considering what happened in the last episode I am assuming that Season 12 will be the last.

How is this show renewed for yet another season? (I'm still working on finishing season 12 to see what happens to Luci's kid.) But it's like a train wreck; I can't stop watching...

I stopped watching after season 5. I might do like drama suggested and start watching at season 9. It completely lost my interest there for a while and I just couldn't take it any longer.

I am getting to where I want it to end but I've invested 13 years in it. I am freaking owed an ending! I told DH I miss the rapport between Sam and Dean that was so well done in Seasons 1-5. I miss the comedy/kitsch that was in the earlier seasons too. DH doesn't like the side episodes where they get away from the main plot but I really enjoy them because it seems like the side episodes are where they get back to what the show is supposed to be about. There is going to be an animated episode with Scooby Doo the next season. I am pretty sure that means they jumped the shark but I am looking forward to it because it should involve a lot of the comedic material I used to enjoy in the show.

I loved the first couple of seasons where they just worked on different cases. If they had stuck to that I would have continued to watch.

The main plot line that ran from the pilot to the end of Season 5 was brilliant. You could tell a lot of time and thought was put into carefully tying everything together. That's when the show was supposed to end but it made so much money the CW decided to keep it going. The original writers left and they brought in new ones. That's when it started to crash and now there are plot holes big enough to drive a truck thru if you have been a loyal fan since the pilot. Most of the time when they try to close the holes it comes off as really weak. It seems like the only reason they bother with a plot hole is if their current episode makes zero sense unless they come up with a bogus reason to explain the giant hole.
