I hope I can look forward to a nice return to Scotland this weekend. Yeah, so waiting for that!! France episodes were supposed to be big on fashion. While I enjoyed the gowns, I prefer the rustic beauty of Scotland

Did anyone else find the weekend's episode boring?? I didn't find myself engaged at all and fell asleep halfway through it which, for me, is a first since I started watching the series

For you, I'm guessing it's because as soon as Jamie took his shirt of they dimmed the lights and switched scenes

I haven't watched the last two yet. Season so far has been pretty underwhelming so I think I might just save them up and marathon it.

LOL! In all seriousness though, the storyline with the grandsire was just so....bleh! The whole politics thing was just not engaging.

Yep. We need more hot and steamy scenes with Jamie.

You guys have me reading the books again! I finished Outlander, I'm now on Dragonfly in Amber. I've read them a few times so I get to skip the parts that I'm tired of/don't like.
Where is the series at right now? In France?

I just put Season One, Volume One on hold at the library. I am not sure why the season is split into two volumes.

Comments on Season Finale?
I LOVED IT! It was very well handled.
The only complaint I had was they did not go into more details on Claire & Frank's marriage. Was it a happy union or more a marriage of convenience? How was Frank as a husband and a father? How was their life in America? Would have loved to have a bit more insight.
And I didn't like the actress they chose to play Brianna. She just did not hold up against Claire. Maybe she will in the future episodes.....

I put what I thought were both parts on hold at the library and ended up with Volume One and and Outlander movie starring Jim Cavezial (Dude from Person of Interest, however you spell his name) I haven't started watching yet b/c I realized I have fewer DVD players than I remember. lol

Just caught up yesterday. Not my favorite season as a whole, but I really enjoyed the last two episodes and the changes they made from the books. I particularly enjoyed having more scenes with Murtagh in the Hail Mary Episode. It was refreshing him kind of acting as the audience questioning Claire and not having her sneak around meeting with Randall.
I liked the finale, and surprisingly quite enjoyed Roger. I only wished there was a bit of a voice over to explain how much she told Briana, rather than just the one flashback to signing the deed. I suppose that allowed us to join in Briana's confusion though.

Every time Claire said she was so much like Jamie I was wondering who she was talking about .

The books didn't go into HUGE detail about Claire and Frank's marriage.... STOP READING NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT A FEW DETAILS!
...though it seemed like they were really in love when they first married ... then separated by years of World War 2 ... and were trying to get to know one another again when she .... left. (Not trying to spoil anything) The books also indicated that she was pretty busy and distracted and gone a lot as she studied to become a surgeon ... that would have included 4 years of college, plus medical school, plus residency + internship. Frank was unfaithful during their marriage at some point (I don't recall the details) ... but he was always a good father to Brianna.

I actually felt for Claire...a LOT Stuck with a guy who reminds her of Jack Randall, completely in love with some she knows is gone, while constantly reminded of him thru Brianna. What a sad way to live....
