I'd sell. You won't have to deal with the hassle of strange people in & out of your house all of the time (not to mention, the noise). At this point, it appears you'll be losing money on the remodel if you sell. JMHO.

We paid $500K for the house and I haven't really found a house that is perfect for $600K or less on the market. It's just when you start getting up into $650-$675K, that's where I don't think our house could really compete if we ever had to put it on the market.

I think I read where the house already had one addition and now you are going to do another.
I would do 2 or 3 also.

Sorry that the bid was so big. And as always, that is the "before they start the work" number. A friend of mine did an addition recently, and on the 2nd day, damage was found that added $30K to the price tag.
Seems like this discussion started over a year go, and even that is an extension on how long you've been pondering this decision. Good luck.
